I want to add a Slingbox to my system.

The Slingbox needs to be hard wired so the telephone port currently linking Sky to the phone line now needs to be the Router link to the Telecom line out so I can connect my router close to my hardware including my Slingbox.

If my Router then takes this telephone line - what do I do to connect MySky to the same phone line?

Don't bother with the phone. Its not essential other than onscreen booking and channel upgrades.

Or use a adsl filter with 2 outlets so you can plug in both the router and the sky box.

Not bothering is easier an the more people that do will hopefully make sky hurry up and enable the ethernet on the sky box instead of using dialup.

Since you presumably have a xDSL master filter installed it's no different to any jackpoint in your home - a plug in filter with the output to the POTS devices (in this case the Sky box)

Just don't connect the Sky telephone cord. It's only there for booking movies etc and interactive channels. It's not required for normal operation.

It shouldn't be too long before the Ethernet port works, as Sky is now "backing UFB", so that will mean they will need to come up with an IP option for there decoders to communicate.

Chorus has spent $1.4 billion on making their xDSL broadband network faster. If your still stuck on ADSL or VDSL, why not spend from $150 on a master filter install to make sure you are getting the most out of your connection?
