i tried to search but either no one has asked before; or i just failed.

anyway.

i think the answer is very much "no" but i'll ask anyway.

is there a way to instruct mysky HDi and + remotes to control a particular box only; so that i would not have to be hiding the box i dont want to command from the remote every time. it's somewhat annoying... i would think technically it somehow could be possible to pair particular remote and box.

Probably not but you could ask the question here.
https://skytv.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/751
Sky probably never considered the likelyhood of two boxes in the same room.
Panasonic did though as you can select from 6 different remote codes on their remotes.

i cant believe i'd be only nzer with this issue...

yes, i used to have panasonics back in the day with the feature so know it'd be technically possible.

As B1GGLZ said, SKY didn't consider the possibility of two boxes in one room so, with the standard kit, the answer is no, you can't customise a remote to an individual decoder. (I hate saying "no you can't" because there is always someone out there smart enough to prove you wrong).

A while ago RF remote extenders came out that used a modified battery to interpret your command by the current draw and send it to the decoder. If you switched one of your remotes to this, and covered up the IR on the remote, then you might be able to differentiate the remotes that way.

You can do it with a control system with your iPhone/iPad or Android device using the following unit......

Each IR output can be dedicated to an individual Sky unit and controlled via the APP.

Edit for a space :)
