Hi I've got a question regarding the mysky audio output over Hdmi.

When I go into the settings and set the Hdmi digital audio output to MPEG/PCM, I can control the audio volume via the sky remote. But when I change this setting to Dolby, I lose the ability to alter the volume via the mysky remote and have to alter it with the TV remote. Is there another setting somewhere I have to set to correct this, or am I boned if I want it to have a Dolby audio output over Hdmi?

This came about as I was using ARC from the TV to home theatre and didn't want stereo output from the home theatre, changing the audio out setting to Dolby gave me proper surround and less of an audio delay as well.
Cheers

Hi, DD is a coded system, ie until you decode it into the discrete channels and have it back as indivdual pcm streams or back as ananlog you cannot control its volume, this is normal with all systems using DD or DTS.

In my system its PCM to the TV over HDMI to give the crappy Tv speaker something to sing about and DD via optical to the AVR.

Bugger, thanks.
Was hoping to make use of the ARC rather than having to use an optical cable as well.
Cheers
