I think it being based on browser is a bug. I watch Lightbox on both Chrome and Firefox on the same PC without any issues >.<

You get 5 devices/browsers so you can use chrome and ff at the same time.  It's when you get browser upgrade/changes that the issues start

To clarify though, you can get 5 devices on your account and 2 streams running simultaneously which is correct yeah. A browser registering as a separate device on your account isn't necessarily to do with updating your browser though :)

does any one have problems playing on airplay?

just tried breaking bad S3E4, and keeps freezing/loading then plays then stops all together.

it seems to pause as it loads, then plays for few secs then pause/freeze again and then stops all together
however playing on Ipad seems to be pretty good, with no issues at all.

ISP - WXC Fibre

So just looking at the launch page for Lightbox, there is no mention that the service will be limited to 5 registered devices - in fact I would suggest that it gives the opposite impression;
Got a few devices? Not a problem.  You can watch on your laptop, desktop, Airplay on Apply TV or on your iPad with our free app, and can even play two shows at once"

It doesn't even mention it on the "About Lightbox" page.  It's not until you dig down into the "Need help?" followed by "Go to our Help Centre!" (why the exclamation mark and why an extra click?  FAQ should be one click.) followed by "How do I manage my devices?" which to an average non technical person is not that obvious.  It's not even in the "Lighbox isn't working on my PC/Mac?" as a possible reason for it "not working".

I'm sure it's in the Terms of Service (Section 6.4 subsection iv) but let's face it who actually reads those?

Confirmed: using "Private Mode" on the laptop - got the message "Playback error Cannot register more devices".

Perhaps you should be warning people not to use private browsing as well as turning off their VPN/DNS!

We use AirPlay to watch it, and have had no significant issues. In fact, its been the most stable implementation of AirPlay streaming I've encountered from an app so far. I was a little concerned about having to use it, after my experience with the NetFlix app when using AirPlay

If you untick this, you'll also have to register that device again (as a new device).

I have an issue where I can only watch one video. If I try to watch a second one it just says 'loading video' and nothing happens. Restarting the browser does not work. This is on a Windows 8.1 PC with Firefox as the browser.

I also have tried Lightbox on a Windows 7 laptop with Firefox and have no issues at all with playing multiple videos.

Thanks, we'll look at how to communicate it.

I've just noticed that I cannot login to Lightbox using Chrome on OSX Mavericks. I'm running v36.0.1985.143. When I attempt to login it stays on the 'Logging in. Please wait...' page indefinitely. I can successfully login using FireFox or Safari.

I've been watching Lightbox via the iPad app, so its not something that really affects me, but I mention it in case it will be an issue for other Chrome OSX users.

There was mention of an update to the Silverlight player in another thread.  Has this been done, or is there an ETA?

Hi,

We've updated the player, but we also need to update the website code calling the player, which will be included in the next drop into production from our staging environment.

Noticing that some report using FFox to solve the buffering issue, perhaps suggesting people DON'T use Chrome would be a good idea too (esp. As a later switch would 'use' up another device slot from the 5 allowed?

Hey not sure of this has been reported. On iPad while watching a movie if you flick up the quick menu to adjust brightness and then flick it back down you have no playback controls in light box. Tried it twice and it quit to the menu and I had to start the episode again.

Office. Season 3 Episode 18. Stops at around 14:20. Can't skip forward. Can't skip over.

Not really a bug, but an issue.

Boston Legal Season 4 was all widescreen, Season 5 (only checked first 2 episodes) are 4:3.
