and this will be why it has stopped

TL:DR - Sky basic has been split into two packages

As I predicted, there was a change to happen with the Sky deals cancellation

No details but it looks like Sky Basic at $25 for a limited set of channels or all of the Basic ones for $50 (no change in price there)

So, the bag of lollies that was $2 is now $1, awesome (Plus you only get half a bag too....)

Weak. I bet it doesnt include the cool doco channels. It will include kids stuff

Very weak. Maybe Sky need a younger CEO, they seem so out of touch.

Do it. When you break it down it's only $12.50 per week, depending on how many games you watch it's $2 per game, $1 per hour of entertainment :)

A bit of smoke and mirrors here. The new Sky basic offering is basically Freeview (ok, they've thrown in a couple of crappy extra channels, but nothing of value). So why would any sensible person pay $25 for channels you can get for free via Freeview? But you can't sign up to just sport, you have to sign up to the basic (ie. Freeview in drag) package as well. So, in effect, Sky are charging $55 per month for sport.

The extra channels depends if you like them, clearly some do, so " they've thrown in a couple of crappy extra channels, but nothing of value" is incorrect. May be correct for you bit not for others

$55 a month for Sky Sport seems a great deal. You dont need HD you dont need a recorder, so $55 is cheap

I've managed to get through twice:

first time resulted in me being instantly hung up on.

second time I got put down beside a keyboard (could hear the typing) and left there for 2 minutes before again being hung up on.

Will try my luck again in an hour, but it seems like they're avoiding clients right now.

edit : Tried again and success, Sky for a year :D

Had a look at the 'Cheapies' site as per the earlier poster and they have this under the deal...

The deal is finally coming to a end after many years , Sales lady said staff told that the deal with expiring on Wednesday (28/2/18) "We unsure why or what is next"

HD is the norm now....most free to air is HD accept Sky's Prime of course. Even Duke is HD. For Sky to charge an extra $10 in 2018 for HD is pathetic when they must broadcast the free to view channels in HD regardless.

The CEO must go..he clearly has trouble understanding reality.

They deserve to die, which is sad as I was a Sky subscriber from day one up until 3 years ago.
