They will offer you a 3 month discount, on sports/movies if I recall correctly.

My parents cancelled sky last August, at the end of this deal, and sky offered to keep the same price. Not sure if it was 6 months or 12 months though.

Wow, interesting, I've never heard of that before, I've called up to cancel a few times and never been offered anything close to that.

In fact $53 doesn't equate to a GST exclusive price?

Normal pricing is I think

24.91 + 29.90 + 9.99 + 20 =84.80 so saves 31.80

The old deal was what I pay now 109.80 less 48.99 = saving of 60.81 (full Basic)

So it is a deal but its not THE deal of old

She did start off by saying everything had changed since the pricing restructure; still it's roughly what my interest free payments were on my phone so I can live with that.

Hi,

Ok I was getting confused so have had a good chat to  (name withheld) on 0800 475 988 (0800 SKY TV).

Under the new deal Sky Entertainment is now considered a premium package like Movies, Sport etc

The deal is $48.99 inc GST per month and you get:

  • Sky Starter
  • MYSky+ (1Tb drive)
  • 2 x Premium Channels (Movies, Sport, or Entertainment)
  • Free install, 6 month contract etc

Stand down for previous Sky customers is s 30 days from the day you return the Sky Decoder

If you select Entertainment and (Sport or Movies) you get SoHo for free (as per Skys normal offer)

Everything else is normal price

For those who want to compare, below is normal pricing (per month) from Sky's Website:

Sky Starter - $24.91

Sky Entertainment - $25

Soho - $9.99

Sky Sport - $29.90

Sky Movies - $20.93

BeIn - $ 16.10

HD Ticket - $9.99

MySky - $15

MySky+ - $20 per month

That's OK.

Slightly more expensive than the old one, as you'd still need the HD ticket. Not bad though, and certainly better than going off the deal onto the normal pricing.

yep i currently pay $60 approx per month for:

Starter + Ent + Sport + Movies + HD + MySky+ ( and now Soho for free)

New deal would be $80 approx:

$50 Deal - Starter, Ent and Sport

$20 for Movies ( cheaper than Ent so better to pay seperately)

Free - MySky+ and Soho

$10 HD

So Sky will increase its ARPU for me, I still get it cheaper than normal

Of course i will probably just drop Movies :)

Clint

edit Spelling and  added bit about ARPU

Don't think you'd get Soho with that packs you have suggested. You need Entertainment AND either Sport or Movies. You won't get it with Movies and Sport (I think).
