Well... my ashwin 50% discount special is coming to an end and I just received a lovely phone call from Sky. Now offered me the same selection (less SOHO) Starter, Sport and Mysky for the next 12 months at 25% discount. After ditching Soho its an extra $3.46 a week ($15 month).

Really happy with that as I was going to roll over and pay full price.

Sigh, I tried this but but they wouldn't offer it to me.

In the end deactivated Sports and Entertainment Package. Kept Starter and MySky for $41 a month

You possibly should have asked to talk to their retention team (assuming they have one). Those teams normally have more options available to them to retain customers.

They CSR did actually put me through to the retention team but was not offered anything by them.

However... I received a call from Sky yesterday offering me the same as what was offered to JPNZ: 25% off for 12mths.

So I now have Starter, My Sky and re-instated Sports. Total: $56.23/month.

Good to hear, it sounds like an almost standard offering if you push hard enough

I just came off 25% off in October. I called them and got 20% off 12 months. Good enough for another year

Chatted today to see if I could get my $80 bill down somewhat, first guy closed the chat as soon as I asked about dropping my spend, and the second guy sent me canned responses nothing to do with what I'd asked, and then when I insisted I wanted to drop my spend said he would get someone from retentions to make contact within 72 hours. It didn't exactly blow my socks off. I expect this may be the last lot of interactions I have with Sky.  Their product is superior in many ways, having tried a few different ways to consume sport in the last 6 months, but it's not good enough to warrant the price PLUS the lack of flexibility.

the lack of flexibility.

I think you've hit the nail on the head as to what Sky's main problem has been for some time now.

If you were only interested in Sport (for example), you always had to take the Basic package as well. Ditto Movies, or anything else, come to think of it.

I believe there are different options available now, for sure (I'm not a Sky subscriber anymore) - but for ages it was "Basic or nothing", regardless of what you wanted to buy from them.

I mean, that's normal, you need a platform to deliver upon, Stan are the same, you can't have Sport without the other stuff etc.

What I meant with lack of flexibility, is I can't watch in every room without additional cost. I only want to watch in one room at a time, but I want to be able to watch where ever I want inside my household.
