Hi, I'm thinking of ditching MySky and was wondering if there was an easy way to capture the video I have saved on MySky HDD?
Most of it is no longer available on demand but is something I want to keep a copy of (episodes of Gone Fishing and ITM fishing show with my Dads boat and a couple of RWC clips that I'm in)
I have my PC right by my MySky so connecting cables will be easy

Composite video output is the only way.

HDMI capture works a treat if you run it thru a splitter that deals to that nasty HDCP nonsense as well.

Hey mate, thanks for the reply, could you link me to a couple of components that you know work?

Let me know how it goes, I don't want to spend more than $150 if possible

seem to work perfectly to capture from my freeview box. Without the splitter the capture box just records and passes thru nothing, so clearly it in itself cant strip HDCP,, but that splitter, an older one I got from tomtop off ebay, and a portta branded 4x2 matrix switch all work to get it capturing.

It captures 1080p 50, 1080i 25 and 720p 50 and 576p 50 - doesnt seem to want to do 576i capture.

There is quite a long thread on videohelp.com that pretty exhaustively discusses capturing over HDMI, and equipment combinations for doing so.
