Make sure that you are using your ISP's DNS servers, I've had issues with Neulion when I've had unotelly's DNS setup on the computer.

Also doesn't Airplay stream the feed to the ios device which then reprocesses the video and sends out another signal? In a location with a lot of WIFI signals this is going to likely degrade the quality.

As I've also said, try forcing a quality (e.g. select 720p instead of "Best Quality") and see if that makes any difference.

Just signed up for the free week, looks like you get access to the super rugby and nrl games on demand. so while no extensive on demand offering, there is a bit their.

edit: looks like highest quality on the sky sport streams is 3000kbps, while the nrl stream is 4500kbps. on the sky sport stream it just has 720p while the nrl stream says 720p HD, and the 3000kbps stream is 720p HQ.

Just trialled this tonight to watch the Netball and League. Overall impressed. Some stalling of the video a couple of times for a second but the 720p looked fine.
As above the FAQ states upto 4500kps
Using UFB (gigabit) and plugged the PC directly into the TV via HDMI
Better than sky go at a mates house who is also on UFB.

Interested to see how it looks for the AB Game tomorrow night.

Personally the price is to high for me but I understand they are trying to have their cake and eat it too.

I've signed up for the free week to try it out. Thought it would be a good one with All Blacks and Black Caps... only for Sky to fall over on the cricket rights. Oh well. Will see how the rugby goes tonight. Netball looked pretty good on my iPad when I checked it briefly last night.

I've just signed up for the free week as well.  720p looks very nice and sharp on my Panny Plasma with between 6 and 7Mbps coming in via my 3G RBI connection.  Selecting 360p is blurry as expected and interestingly the audio quality takes a noticeable hit too.  Data rate drops to around 1.7Mbps @ 360p.

As others have mentioned, it takes a few seconds before 720p hits its stride and the full video quality is revealed.  Certainly a huge improvement on the dodgy streams I've been using to watch the last few rugby games, so we'll see how it goes tonight.

Am I the only one who cant even sign up? If I click Create Account, nothing happens. Home page looks 1/2 finished as well.

Page looks 1/2 finished to me, nobody else has mentioned this so think its a problem on my end?

Same thing in IE + Chrome.

I used Firefox and it worked perfectly for me.  Didn't see anything that looked 'Half Finished' and the signup process completed as expected with confirmation emails being sent immediately.

Strange. Turned VPN on and then the pages loaded fine.

Oh well, all registered now.

Watched a replay of an NRL match in 720P HD and was buffering a bit. Decided to leave it on pause + buffering a while, pressed play and worked fine for the next 5 minutes before I went over to Live tv.

ITM Cup on SP1 is going flawlessly right now @ 720

Forgot to mention, using Laptop.

Thanks for showing up!

I'm generally impressed (compared to the terrible SkyGo fiascos) but have noticed that Sky Sport 4 is noticably jerkier than the other channels. It's almost as if it was running at 15 or 20FPS instead of 25/30? I've been watching the netball today and it's happening the whole time.

(This is viewing on a standard Win10 computer and chrome. Same machine has no similar issues with youtube, lightbox, Netflix, Vimeo etc. I've only noticed it on Fanpass and it's definitely worse on Sky Sports 4.

What are the official bitrates we could expect on each channel and do you expect to pull the bitrate way way down tonight to deal with the AB/AU match?

Cheers - N

Thanks for the free week! Echoing comment above regarding SS4, noticeably worse than the other channels (Win8 PC and Firefox).

Is there any chance of a Windows Phone version? If not for 8.1, how about a universal app for Win10?

Bitrates should not be compromised tonight. The more people streaming the higher priority we get on the server, so in theory the better the experience should be.

Bitrate will be 4500 for tablet and desktops, 3000 for mobile - check out the FAQs here http://fanpass.co.nz/faq

Re - other devices being added. We are constantly look at additional ones and will look to road map these. I will pass this on to our product team.

Chromecast support should be made a priority.

It then makes streaming on the telly accessible to everyone.
