waikariboy:

Had a couple of issues around 9:10 last night watching rugby. image stopped and had to jump channels and back again to get working. Also noticed around that time image quality started going down, looked like i was watching 340p video for about 2-3 minutes.

Had something similar watching the rugby last night at about the same time on ESPN+, so doubt it was a fault with Fan Pass.

corksta: Fully aware it doesn’t include the pop up channels, all I want is the usual sports (rugby, netball, cricket, etc) that play on their normal channels like it has always done through their satellite service, not interested in the pop ups.

I am currently subscribed to Fanpass (joined in January on a six month plan). I won't be renewing, and the main reason is the lack of pop up channels. I've enjoyed watching the IPL (Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket). Most games were on the main channels, great. The final was put on a pop up channel, and a full match replay wasn't put on the main channel until 30 hours after the event. If Sky do put major events on a pop up channel, they need to put a replay on a main channel as soon as practically possible. Darts (not a major but I do watch it from time to time) also seems to be on a pop up channel, and no replays on the main channels.

Not really sure of the reason they don't offer pop up channels. It won't cost Sky anymore, since they've already acquired the broadcast rights for Sky (STB) customers.

Got popups now? Great, I'll cancel Sky and get FanPass

I don't see why Sky should care about that....I mean their pricing model isn't far off each other...and isn't money = money?  They seem to have this weird obsession with forcing decoder access

Hi, I've recently got a Sony A1 Oled 55 inch TV. Fanpass is the weakest app I have on Apple TV. I have infuse, Netflix, Youtube, BBC Iplayer, all running superbly. I am not interested in getting a decoder. I understand about the complexities of streaming sport, however currently watching the World Cup I'm getting better streaming quality watching a live football game from BBC Iplayer (exactly the same game at the same time), it beats Fanpass hands down! I can stream Dolby Vision on Netflix with no stutter, preloading etc so my internet speed is absolutely not the issue.

Any suggestions? What could this be down to? Not enough investment at Sky's end with their streaming infrastructure? Any settings I could change?

Help gratefully accepted

Thanks. John
