The old's have a Sky Tv Air 4400, as they have now canceled Sky and Sky did not sky for this back, can it be used as an access point?

Yes it can. I have one in my garage hooked up to a raspberry pi as a garage door opener.

Cheers @manaia, can you clarify, as i should have been more specific, can the unit be plugged in to a structured cabling port and then act as an access point? or does it provide "WiFi" to non WiFi devices by connecting the Ethernet cable between the two devices.

Damn, you did specifically ask about using it as an access point and I answered a different question. It definitely does the latter, as per Goosey's data sheet and the SKY usage. My understanding is that it is a standard unit (as per the default passwords for admin access) which has "mesh networking" capabilities but I've never seen it tested as an access point myself.
