This is pretty big. What changes in services can we expect?

Responses above don’t explain why there will be no effect.

It’s because Sky UK and Sky in NZ are unrelated. Maybe you thought Comcast had bought Sky NZ as part of the deal - they bought only Sky UK.

I fix stuff!

SkyUK sold their shares in SkyNZ along time ago. They saw the writing on the wall well in advance... :-)

To my memory Sky NZ has never had Sky UK as a shareholder.

Murdoch owned a portion of Sky NZ through Newscorp via INL - and then directly after the INL-Sky merger but sold out a number of years ago.   Fox (post Newscorp demerger) owns 39% of Sky UK - and half (or more than half? following the Foxtel-Fox Sports transcation) of Foxtel in Australia.

Sky NZ has also had Spark (nee Telecom) and TVNZ as shareholders.  And some of the baby Bells at its inception.  All have now gone.  Sky is a NZ company with no significant shareholder and is not related to Sky UK in any form.
