WyleECoyoteNZ:

We watched a couple of movies, but not enough to justify the monthly cost that goes with it. I'll stick with basic and sport thanks, for now.

But what did disappear rather quietly was the kids channel Disney XD (was for some, on channel 103)

The mister 9 in our house was a bit disappointed by this.

A quick google search came across this from Sky TV

https://skytv.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3988

Effectively, it's been merged with the Disney channel, so there were 3 Disney channels (Disney, Disney XD & Disney Junior) but now there are only 2 (Disney & Disney Junior)

It's highlighted on pages 25 of the January Skywatch. Disney XD integrated into Disney Channel.

We don't get the Skywatch magazine, and haven't for years and years, so that is why I\we didn't know about it

So how do you become aware of new content or changes? Cos Sky pales in comparison to TVNZ or Mediaworks when it comes to self promotion of content.

I figure that for less than the price of a daily newspaper its better to have than not. It's less than 10c a day.

We either see the Sky TV ad advertising for new shows on channels we watch, or use the on screen guide.

We don't get postal mail from any of our utility companies, all emailed.

We're not running Sky through a Sky branded box, but using the Vodafone Digital TV. Hell, our box is so old, it's got the TelstraClear logo on it still.

Viewer ship went from 5% to 61%.

Lol, the advertisers don’t get as good a deal when viewers have to pay to watch adds.

Says to me in general people are not prepared to pay Sky prices for current format, they just won’t view.

Oh? I read it that viewership went up by 5% from 56% to 61%.  Maybe I read that wrong.

I read it wrong. Just read the 5% to 61%, if they’d said from 56% would’ve been clearer.

So then most people are paying to see what want to see, and only a small increase if drop price for ones that already have decoder.

I would hope that this is always the case. I see many here who say they are or have ditched Sky as they don't watch it. I find that really funny each time. How much money they spent on a product they have no need for, priceless.
