Has anyone noticed a poorer quality stream in the last few days? I say few days as a guess as I don't always use it.

Been watching Super Smash and now the first ODI on Sky Sport and noticed a really bad artefacts, not their usual quality at all. Have tried other computers/connections etc, just wondering if it's only me or if the quality has dropped across the board.

TIA.

I haven't watched anything since the tests (which I dont remember being bad), but I'm watching the ODI now via chrome and its appalling quality.  Any sort of movement and it looks like minecraft!

My stream just stopped entirely (crashed back to the play screen), it took a couple of refreshes/ clicks to get it back playing again but the quality has significantly increased.

I come here to post as the quality trying to watch teh ODI was terrible. It was like an interlaced effect, and when following the ball rolling on the outfield you could see two ghost image balls on either side. This was on Windows and tried both Chrome and IE. Sky sport 2 with Aus vs India didn't seem to be like this.

Anyway about 10 min ago the stream stopped and when I started it again and now seems fine. Someone turned something off and on again...?

Tried on Ipad when it was bad and it seemed fine....

Same as you, it seems very interlaced, very noticeable when the camera is panning, checked the test match it the quality is fine there.....just switched back to the ODI and it seems better.

May or may not be related, but my FanPass (Samsung TV app) has been having intermittent audio dropouts for the last 5-6 days. I've just put up with it so far.

This is why I'm looking forward to sky dying.

Hope spark can deliver decent quality for the rwc2019.

Maybe sky need to spend more than $20 on a content delivery network eh.

Useless .

I had audio dropouts on the Fanpass $1 weekend. Also Samsung. Even though it is 2 years since I last tested Fanpass I can still say its not fit for purpose, not even worth 0.50/day.

Actually you're right, the tests were the last time I used it and it was fine.

Thanks for the replies all, I guess it isn't just me. I was having the interlacing issue too and it looked really bad. A couple of dropouts too. I ended up watching it on Prime.

@tdgeek Do you watch on the iPad or AirPlay to a TV? I have my computer plugged into a second TV so any quality drop is quite noticeable.

I watch the iPad. Generally its the iPad Air 1, although I have a Pro 12.9 latest gen as well. I'll add my MBP 15 as a new device and see what Sky Go is like on that via Safari, and also Airplay it

What I have seen over the threads on Sky Go, is that the iPad is the best option. A PC and/or browser have a lot of things to manage, but the iPad is a narrow device if using an app, narrow in that its not doing a lot, just running one app more or less. Similar to a TV app. I'll test the laptop and Airplay tonight

The other issue is SkyGo is an "on the go" service, its for tablets and phones, so if you blow it up from my 9.7 tablet to my 50 Plasma, its surely going to suffer visually, but I'll feedback tonight for you

Yeah, you're right about the "on the go" thing but generally I've found the quality acceptable enough and it's a nice alternative for another room and OD. I have an iPad, but it's super old. I guess I could try that.

I found yesterday for the start of the Black Caps game it was trash, all interlaced and looked awful, but the stream died half way through the Black Caps innings then came back much better. (Still average, but at least what it normally is.)

I have used SkyGo and a chromecast to a 32inch tv and even to a 65 Oled (the Sony A1 upscales amazing) without issue all last year. This last couple of weeks it sucks. The picture on the browser is horrid, the 32 tv is disgusting with constant horrid vertical lines and the Sony is doing its best and is a watchable meh. Whenever they push more channels the overall quality goes down but this time its really bad when a hd live broadcast is bad in Chrome itself. I keep hoping Sky will improve and keep being disappointed.

I use it regularly, why is it fine for me? Given that it is, it must be something after Sky that is the issue, as it seems that SkyGo into the house is fine. As its designed for "On the go" if you want to use it as fake Sky on a big TV, all bets are off.

Try another browser
