Updated the iOS app and the release notes state it is now available on the big screen.

Currently casting to my Sony TV, looking pretty good! AirPlay to Apple TV is also supported.

Was noticed last week as part of the Sky Go is 60 fps thread.

Definitely a step in the right direction.

Looks like the notifications for this went out to customers today. Received this just before -

Psst… I have a little secret that I’ve been keeping for Sky. I wouldn’t be Dr. Chaos if I didn’t spill the beans. So I’ll let you in on it. Secrets out, casting has arrived for Sky Go!

Sky is giving us even more power to watch how we want! But what does all this extra power and control mean?

Sky and casting are an unstoppable force of power and control. When you are away from home you can take your Sky TV subscription with you and stream it from the app straight onto your TV!

Streaming? Casting? I’m not a tech-genius millennial either so I had to learn all this new language. It is just a way that you can watch your Sky content without needing to be by your Sky box. With an internet connection you can use the Sky Go app to ‘stream’ and ‘cast’ (which means watch but in millennial speak) via Chromecast and Airplay through your device.

You have the power now!

Mwahaha.

Dr. Chaos.

This is a great move by Sky - well done - but I’m a grumpy ol’ fart and I don’t really like the writing style of this communication. Be informal for sure - but this sort of thing goes too far IMO. I see it as a bit like the smart-A Air NZ safety videos - which I felt were somewhat unprofessional.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Yes, stupid. How about an informal style saying we want to really look after our customers, and so on. That Marketing grad needs a talking to

Yep a little too flippant for this old fart also.

But loving the upgrade, looks fantastic.

Is it just me, or does this feel like a clumsy alternative to a native Apple TV app?
