When Spark sold Lightbox to Sky a few months back, I checked the terms and conditions on the unplan entertainment package and it said that Lightbox (and Netflix) would continue to be included in the plan as long as I remained on the plan. Now I’m losing Lightbox. I’m off contract and I get that their allowing people to exit existing plans without break fees but it still annoys me that I’ve fulfilled my side of the deal (by staying on the plan) and they haven’t (I appreciate that there is probably a term saying they can change the terms at Will, but still).

Rant over.

Anyway, maybe now I’ll get around to watching GoT?

Any news on if the new Neon will support 4K or 5.1 sound?

Also does anyone knows what bitrate Lightbox tops out at the moment? I believe Neon is 1080p 8000kbps?

My mobile plan comes with free Lightbox included, as does my broadband plan as well. Now we'll be paying the same amount but for less since Neon will now cost $10 extra. Already on the Entertainment plan that has now been renamed to Netflix plan. Gutted. They could at least upgrade us to Netflix Premium.

Agreed, upgrade us at no cost or drop the price of the plan

paying extra for premium, i would welcome this. however, spark didn't raise the price when netflix did...

From what I can tell the Lightbox app is a being rebranded and updated to be the new neon app. So there will be ps4. There will also be an Apple TV app. Finally. Great news.

It will be, they confirmed it via an email after I raised a question. The whole page is out of date, I suggested they update it but it appears they haven't.

Looks like you had better luck with them than I did.
The responses I got from them were decidedly "sky help desk" quality.

I simply asked if the Android TV app will continue to be supported under "New Neon"
The first reply I got quoted what is on their "outdated web page."
When I pressed further, the second reply simply included a link to supported devices on the current Neon site.

Seems like there are mixed messages coming out of sky/neon/lightbox helpdesk.

I specifically asked about the post 2016 Sony TVs that run Android TV that ship with lightbox... they said it would be supported as normal along with the Dish TV boxes... Lightbox has never been available on generic android annoyingly, same as Spark Sport but can be sideloaded... I don't think the app will be restricted to a couple of devices so once released we should be able to extract and then post the apk download... for the most part the apps autoupdate inside anyway and the original apk is simply a shell.

Iightbox have an app for Android TV devices that can be installed from google play without the need for sideloading.
I'm currently running it on a Mi Box S
