Hello,

we have had mysky for about 1 month and have had no problems at all with it. We went away over the weekend, came back yesterday and it refused to turn on. The little red light indicates that it is recieving power and it is humming away, but turning it on gives no response at all. I have tried all the obvious things - turning it off for a good period of time, unplugging, replugging, resetting, taking the card out etc etc.

Anyone got any ideas what could be the problem? I have booked a technician but have to wait until the 6th of Jan. Good on sky for quick service.

We have a second decoder, I have plugged our satelite dish into this and it works fine, so does no appear to be a reception problem. Maybe the mysky box has given up, maybe it missed us over the weekend and decided to end its life.

any ideas?

thanks

sounds pretty dead to me. if you're near a branch, just take it in + demand a swap, 6th of jan is ridiculous for a trouble call.

give Sky a break. It's christmas. You can't just demand swaps on products when it breaksdown on you.

Do whatever you want to do man.

Yeah maybe the word "demand" is a bit too strong.  Ask nicely.

I reckon you can ask for a swap if the unit is clearly dead, after all it is their equipment and 6 Jan is a long time to wait.

cheers. the office in hastings is quite small, do you think they would swap it over if we ask nicely? the 6th is pretty far away and once you have myskyhdi you don't wanna go back to a regular decoder!

physically take it to a shop to exchange it. warn them you're coming and to make sure they have a spare one. i think that might work?

Hmmm everytime I've been to the branch in Mt Wellington to swap things including decoders for basic sky digital thay have told me they only swap UHF decoders, And if its digital an installer has to come to your home. Has this rule changed now?

the installer came out early and replaced the unit. he didn't know what had happened but thought the unit was definitely dead!
