Everyone to themselves...

When I goto another room to watch Sky I get no signal input and forget to take the remote with me to turn the box back on again

The old box never went into standby

Does anyone know how to stop the Sky Box from going into standby?

Does the unit going into standby cause any issues re recording or background processes?

Why would you want it to do this?
Genuine question, I've never had a problem with the new box "going into standby" and I'm wondering what the issue is

In my case - I am having problems with the box turning on/off via my TV remote. Have the latest Samsung TV's and HDMI-CEC on this is not working as expected. Turning off using the Samsung TV remote - turns the TV off and sometimes turns off the box.
Turning on using the Samsung TV remote - turns the TV on and does not turns on the box or the box goes into a spaz and comes on and back into standby instantly.

Better solution - disable HDMI-CEC which I have done and leave the box running all the time but cannot see a way of doing this since it still goes into standby.

No - not that I have seen or experienced. Recordings are fine while in standby.

Have you tried here

Universal Remote setup for the New Sky Box

Is the Box HDMI plugged into the (ARC) port on the TV?

Yup tried that. Box is plugged into standard HDMI port as ARC is used for my Soundbar.

Couple of months in now with the SkyPod and while mostly its doing things as needed i still seem to get random things happening.
There have been numerous occasions where ill be doing something else, look up and notice its sitting on the main menu screen....having seconds previous been watching a show and no where near touching the remote.
Not all the time but just seems to randomly happen (Bluetooth interference somehow?)

Other than that it seems stable enough... But i tell you its definitely meant more hassle when the in laws come over to look after the child... Screw trying to explain how to change over to Apple TV to watch TV1 and 2...
in saying that Apple TV is getting a hell of a lot more use now.. which in turn means more familiarity and makes me question more why i need sky.. (I know the answer... Sport... but once thats not a requirement Sky is gone from my house)

The sofabaton remote supports both ir and Bluetooth and can be programmed like the logitech harmony. I haven't tried it. They claim it can support the nz sky Bluetooth remotes.

The Skypod seems a lot more stable than when I first got it. The remote control is touchy though. If you hit the u/d/l/r control anywhere you can get booted back to the home screen.

Especially problematic is the 3-6 area ( just above the home icon). You only have to slip off the ring and the home button activates even though you did not push it directly.

I have to hold the control with two hands to make sure I hit the circle controls exactly.

Also accidently hitting the channel control on the Skypod remote operates my old Panasonic plasma TV and changes it to aerial TV channel and off the HDMI selection that the Skypod is plugged into. You have to reselect the AV channel with the Panasonic control to get back to the Skypod

As I have mentioned before you can turn off the TV at the same time as the Pod using the Skypod remote on/off button HDMI-CEC enabled but you can't turn the TV on using the same button

The only problems I have with the new Sky Box are:

1. Can not stop the Box going into standby mode
2. Can only use one bluetooth remote at a time (Sky cabled to two other rooms and would like a remote in each room)
3. Live pause can not be cancelled need to FF to the end
4. Continue Watching items can not be removed until you have watched all seasons and episodes FF them all to the end is not an option for me.
5. FF 64x is slow advancing
6. Error playing internet content had to factory reset the box twice so far
7. Series link missing on some TV shows

If anyone has a fix for these issues, please let me know

Re - Cancelling live pause
I just hit Home on the remote then back to Live TV and that cancels it.

Re - Error playing internet content
Interesting - never had any issues on mine and have been playing a bit of online content.

I can empathise with Tatou, on the sensitivity of the round control button.  But for me the main issue is the sound and picture being out of sync.  I am not sure if this is my LG TV or a combination of the Sky Pod and the TV. It is easy to resync, turn the pod off turn it on but it currently is an issue for us.
