New Sky Box FAQs

They should focus on fixing the existing issues and stabilising the box before releasing new features as I can only imagine that it will cause further instability and introduce even more bugs!

Get the foundational aspects right first rather than rushing it out the door!

Then again - why would they listen to us?

The problem is that the majority of Sky's customers don't know they are having problems and they think it's something they did wrong and don't report it or complain.

All us moaners are just a minority few, and in Sky's eyes have nothing better to do than pick out every flaw in their wonderful shiney new devices that is too late for them to back track on!!

does anyone know is there anyway to change the commentary feed that you could do on the old box by pressing the yellow button or is this is something else that has vanished on the new box and i am now stuck listening to the god awful NZ sky team on the league games.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

no its when you could change the commentary feed , so you could go from the sky feed to the fox feed by pushing the yellow button on the remote

Met up with a mate, yesterday and he asked about new Sky box and should he 'upgrade'. Said he'd been told to wait by someone else.

Definitely stay with MySky box. I wish I had.

Can you move back? As someone else mentioned earlier, if it was get the new Sky Box for $x, keep MySky in case you are not satisfied, then we will reverse the deal.

If Sky had faith that would be a no brainer for every subscriber. The ads look great, the features look great, but they are not delivering, by a margin. I dont really care whose fault it was, its faulty

I will take your advice and not upgrade yet, but this probably means that I'll have to pay $200 to get the new Sky Box, instead of the current $50 special upgrade price which expires on 18 June.

If all the major issues aren't fixed by $18 June, perhaps Sky should extend the special offer time until these issues have been sorted? But, Sky must have sold hundreds of these new boxes, are they all faulty or is it just a small percentage of them?

The boxes are not faulty. Im sure hardware wise they do the job. The software and backend implementation is faulty. Bare minimum, its no better than MySky, so why would I upgrade? In fact, MySky is perfectly fine, and the new boxes are not.

Sorry, "new features will be implemnted"  or do you mean basic functionality like the old box will be fixed? Im a Sky user from way back, the content, the delivery mechanism works for me, and many others. The bare minimum is what we had , we still have, plus all these new features. The former and the latter have failed. Sky needs to man up and say, we failed. There is a lot of human value from screwing up and admitting it, that garners respect. That would make the news, but no.

Not sure I agree. "the majority of Sky's customers don't know they are having problems and they think it's something they did wrong" NO WAY. They know what they do and the reliability they have always had. Get a new box and all the issues appear? No

"All us moaners are just a minority few, and in Sky's eyes have nothing better to do than pick out every flaw" Just because GZ moaners see these issues doesnt mean it works great for everyone else. Plain and simple, it was never tested then beta tested.
