joshhill96: Even after an update the sky box still shuts down makes a squeak sound and reboots after you try open Netflix or another App, has anyone had this issue?

Havent seen any reboots recently - on the latest launcher and platform update - things seem to have stablised from a rebooting perspective this is.

I am started to experenice an issue where I turn on the TV and Netflix is opened, I thought I may have knocked the button by mistake but was sitting and watching Crime Investigation then all of a sudden the screen goes back to the last app I played then again to Netfix.

Anyone else have this issue?

I have that at times too. I don't even use Netflix. I just hit my hub button.

Yep mine did an update a couple of days ago. Lost my EPG view when looking through screens for a bit but then it eventually started working again.
Cant say ive noticed much else different.
I do get lots of random powerups of my Pre-amp and then it shuts down again... so im wondering if its doing adjustments every now and then.

so I got this email today.

What happens to my existing My Sky recordings?

When you upgrade to the new Sky Box you won’t be able to transfer recordings from your current Sky Box to the new Sky Box.

If you choose to keep your current Sky Box as a multi-room option (monthly fees apply), it’ll still have all your recordings so you’ll be able to watch these whenever you like.

Soooo, Im a long time Sky user and that will stay as the content suits me. No way will I migrate to the new Sky box based on this thread. BUT, if i can move to the new Sky Box, assuming all the issues will be eventually resolved, then I could stump up to "upgrade" as long as as I can keep my MySky in the interim. That becomes Multi-Room what is the cost? $25 per month?

So, say I did this and the new Sky Box remains sh!te, can i just cancel the 2023 version and revert back to the 1980's version :-)  (the latter "just works")

Simple answer - yes you should be able to. Many others in this thread. Added advantage you have if that the old box will still be activated and you will have it.

Cost? $25 a month I assume, thats fine. A latte per week beta  tester! All good with that.

I'm a Sky pod user, I initially got Sky for a past world cup.  I haven't been terribly happy with the pod, the user interface is slow, and you can't load the Apple TV app.  I thought I'd try the Chromecast Google TV device, user interface is smooth and seamless you can load the Apple TV app, and everything the Sky pod could have been and should have been, plus it has infrared and can drive some of my TV functions as well.  Sadly I haven't been able to load SkyGo on it yet.  Probably keep the Sky pod for the soccer.

My latest issue with the new Skybox is single programs sometimes being recorded in two parts, with some lost time in the middle. For example getting a 20 min partial recording and a ~10 min partial recording instead of a single 30 min full recording. It happens occasionally, recent examples being an episode of The Chase at 5 pm on a weekday, and FairGo on at 7 pm on Saturday.

Anyone else seeing this?

My suspicion is the Skybox has a problem with the recording and cuts it short, but then detects that should be recording the episode and starts another recording. Better than just a single short recording! But a single full recording would be best...

I've had the split recording once during the TV3 news. It didn't appear to have missed anything.

We have had the new sky box for some months but am still having trouble recording a series. Has anyone had any success with this or is it still one of the faults to be fixed.?

Did you have the SkyBox before getting the new box?

No. Came from Vodafone and purchased the new box. Sky informed us that there were problems and that they would be fixed, but I am not sure if they have fixed the problems with recording and that the problem is only in our unit. It looks like we would have been with the old sky box. I dread trying to get anything via the phone.
