Yes, that was planned, they need to get on with it. Because the VAST (australian freeview and remote tv service) is having issues with rebroadcast sites as the inclination is becoming an issue. Which is why in the past few weeks Vast announced that they are moving from being split across D3 and Optus 10 , to moving it all to Optus 10 in the next couple of months

skyplonk:

Optus has not so far identified what satellite is being moved to temporarily replace D2 or what functions it had been providing for other customers.

It's Koreasat 6 as discussed here.

Hi Guys.

Not sure if anyone has noticed.

The resolution difference between Skys Simulcast Services on D10 when compared to D2 is not quite the same.

D10 everything is pretty much running at 1920 x 1080, while D2 it's a mix of 1440 x 1080i which has been the way for a few years now.

Not sure if the following is related, but thought I'd post anyway, there are many of you deep into Satellite stuff

I watch a LOT of golf on Sky. (I have MySkyHDi old black box with satellite ) LPGA Thailand, Days 1 and 2 every 15 or 20 seconds it goes blank a couple of times then is fine, for a while, rinse and repeat. Watched some of PGA Mexico, not same issue, but some commentary feeds were erratic, like a poor wifi or cellphone reception. Watched a little bit late arvo today all seems good. Ordinarily, I'd put this down to laocal conditions and forget about it, but with the satellite changes, just asking.
