I'm running MySky via HDMI to our 42" LCD, with the audio going from the digital out on the decoder via coax. cable to my Pioneer HT amp.

Amp detects/recognises digital audio signal -great. But the MySky remote doesn't influence the volume or mute anymore, as if the digital signal bypasses the normal MySky volume controls? I can moderate the volume with the HT remote's master volume but having to use 2 remotes to change channel AND change volume is a PITA frankly.

Has anybody else seen this before? Is this normal?

Thanks in advance...

Yes this is normal.
The hdmi and digital audio signals are unaffected by the volume or mute functions of the MySky remote. I believe it is because the signal path is purely digital and is therefore not adjusted like an analogue signal is. Incidentally the analogue VCR socket on standard Sky boxes is the same (so you don't accidentally mute a recording).

Does your HT remote have any learning functions? Probably not enough to run MySky though. A universal remote help solve it.

Many thanks Dingbatt, thought that would turn out to be the case but always nice to have it confirmed...
