I contacted SKY yesterday to make a payment on my account. I am coming to the end of the 4 month special offer of free multiroom and this months account includes next months multiroom charge of $25. I explained that I will be cancelling the multiroom at the end of the 4 month free term and was advised that it would be OK for me to pay my account less the $25. However because I was cancelling multiroom I would still incur the $10/month HD ticket charge so they said they would accept a payment less $15. This quickly got corrected by myself as I do not subscribe to movies or sport and would therefore not require the $10 HD ticket. Everything seemed fine, Sky said that I should return my old MYSKY to the Christchurch office within a week following the end of my 4 month period.

However, several hours later when I switched on the bedroom TV I realised that my 2nd decoder (the original MYSKY unit) was no longer working, it wouldn’t play previously recorded programs or anything live Nothing!

I phoned sky back and explained that they had cancelled the multi-room facility 10 days early, they tried to correct this but had a little difficulty so said they would phone back later. 30mins later I received a call from SKY saying that it was difficult to achieve but they had managed to make the 2nd decoder operational again. Success, I thought, but now I can’t view any of previously recorded programs which I had hoped to view during my remaining 10 days, All I got was an onscreen message saying “you were not authorised at time of recording”

I contacted Sky again, and explained the story, they said they would try to correct this and would call back. What do you think the chances are that will be fixed?

They did the same to me when I cancelled movies, sports and the HD ticket and kept basic.
They said it would change the next day but while I was talking to them Sky stopped then restarted.
I said to the lady CSI it just stopped -
she said - yeah,it does that sometimes.
When I got off the phone I found everything had been turned off..

So I now no longer have Sky, took it back and now have Tivo..
And don't miss Sky at all. Tivo has a way clearer picture than MySky HDI
