Hi. I am using this app on an iPad. Initially seemed to work very well. Especially like the ability to set recordings on my mySky. However, on my iPad it has one very annoying bug. If you change off the default grid view, and use the "just one channel listing" view, and go into the following day, there is a problem. Tapping a listing brings up the popup box with record, alert etc, but it's for the wrong program. It can be 4 or 5 programs out. Wonder if anyone else has this problem, or it's just me? Only noticed this bug after I made a list of favorite channel, but that probably is just coincidence.
And yes, I have tried the microsoft answer of rebooting the iPad.

Thanks, Pete.

the wrong program info is a known issue sky are fixing.

At this point I should say there is currently a major bug with the app and the synopsis informaion. As per the image above, if you are viewing a synopsis that is future dated from your favourites or from the alerts list (under the settings tab) then you will be presented with the wrong information. The good news is that version 1.0.2 fixes this bug and it has been submitted to Apple for approval so it shouldn’t be too far away.

Be good if could do remote record from results of program search. Have to go to day, time on grid and set remote record from there. Great application, using it to find and record poker stars, which doesn't have series link.

The sky app update is out now, and fixed the issue of seeing the wrong program info details

Rugrat,I can do remote record from the search results ok. Just double check when it's on as that search seems to include times the show was on earlier today (which cannot be recorded as it's already over).

Cool, thanks. Just done test and it worked from search result. Didn't realize program might have already screened in results.

Can you only set 1 recording for a time slot using the app?

My wife just used the app to record go-girls at 8.30, and I wanted to record reunion, also at 8.30 but it would let me.

Mine now saying mysky not linked to account and wants date of birth and smart card number. It was all working perfectly before, seems strange that account link info been lost somehow.

Also when sign in comes up retrieving data, and then doesn't actually sign in. Plus I had two smart cards set up for multiroom, does applic allow two linkages, as when hit record before window opened asking which one.

Originally set up from computer, just seems strange smart card data lost.

Working now. Guessing part of sky's system temporally off line, but instead of saying that, when press record came up account not linked to smart card.

I must say the SKY app is one of the most useful i have seen. I have been away from home most of the week and been able to record many docos that i would have missed

Just wish there was a series link button.

In other Sky markets they claim to be working on adding series link. They also already have an Android version overseas. Do Sky here have to do more than speed up their rubber stamping?

Sky isn't in other markets, just New Zealand.  There are other companies with the same name, but they are not the same company.

Just received a press release:

SKY Television has been delighted with the positive response to its latest product launch, the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch app which shot straight to the number one spot upon launch.

Customer downloads exceeded 50,000 in just four weeks, placing it in the number one spot for free apps for 8 days on the iPhone and 12 days on the iPad during its first weeks. It has remained in the top 10 since. The most popular features have been browsing the guide, setting programme alerts and the remote record functionality.

The Throng website quoted the app as being ‘…just about perfect’, while another individual user said “I can’t believe they got it 100% right the first time. Easy to use, everything works!”

The app exceeded the forecast number of downloads in its first month and gained a very respectable user rating of 4.5 stars, delighting SKY’s Marketing Manager Chaz Savage who said,

“We are thrilled at the response to our app, not only has the number of downloads exceeded expectations but we have been receiving a large number of very positive comments from users letting us know how useful they find it.  We are now focused on the next release which will offer many new features, a number of them stemming directly from customer feedback. While the new feature set is still being finalised we will definitely be offering an Android version in the near future”, he said.

The SKY Television app is available in the Apple store to download, search for SKY TV or text SKY to 898.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
