Hi All I hope Ive posted this in the right place as Ive not been here before.
yesterday my Daughter spilt her coffee all over my phone unfortunately she didn't remove the back off  or take the battery out straight away .  First of all it went then died so we charged it then went black . Reading on the internet  it was the worst thing we could!!
At the moment its in a bag of rice :/.  Our contents insurance the excess is $1000 so a waste of time to go through that and of course the $300 protection plan I put on the phone doesn't cover stupidity :(  Since its only 4 weeks old and Im paying it off its logical I spose to get it repaired but what would I be looking at price wise?,
and how do you find a place that is good ? Please any extra advice I may not of done please tell me and of course a place that is recommended
many thanks Ang

Bag of rice is just allowing the liquid time to do even more damage inside the phone.

Take it to a mobile repair centre ASAP to have it properly cleaned - sounds like its too late for your LCD.

We've had reasonable success with liquid damaged samsung's however the AMOLED display is particularly sensitive to liquid.

What does a protection plan do if it doesn't cover accidental damage?

Hello is your phone ok already? ... And where is your location?. Maybe you can drop by Dr.Mobiles.nz.co
They have a branch @ Wellington and Auckland. They need to check your phone first no inspection fee

I thought the screens alone are over $400 so you may well be starting there and going up.

Do Samsung do an out of warranty replacement like Apple? That could be an option.

When I damaged my note 2. I hunted around for a replacement screen and the cheapest place to get it fixed was Samsung direct. call 0800 Samsung and talk to them.

Samsung do have their own service centre and they have been pretty good with DVD players etc that we have needed to have repaired in the past.

I'd start there.

How much was it? My workmate dropped hers on the corner and has been looking for a price to get repaired.

From memory it was $350 I got a quote from 3 other people and they were all around $499
