If you live in a part of hamilton with 3G coverage then Yes you will have HSDPA

Hmm ok thanks,

I just bought a new Motorola V6 Maxx phone and I cant seem to get a a 3g (HSDPA) signal, all I get is normal 3g. I am just wondering if they have HSDPA in Hamilton. I live near the Uni here, and should get coverage if it is available here...

I had always believed that HSDPA was limited to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Has this been expanded to include other cities?

HSDPA is used when only moving internet traffic. You won't see the 3G+ when the phone is just sitting there idel or on a voice call.

Browse the web on your phone while in 3G coverage and you will see another little ICON with 3G+ beside the 3G icon (HSDPA)

I'm rather surprised with the speeds I get



Going via a usb connection to an i-mate spjas in wellington cbd:




Even though the dialup connection is only showing 230kbps



the imate's max data rate is only supposed to be 384k, it must be vodafone's network compression or something...

Lower Hutt CBD, mid-afternoon:           1497kbps down, 248kbps up, 254ms ping

Karori (Wellington) just after midnight: 1305kbps down, 257kbps up, 238ms ping
