Does anyone have any information on SMS Short Codes in NZ (e.g. how to get one, how much they cost etc)?

The company I work for currently sends and receives SMS messages via Vodafone's TXTMail service and are interested in getting a 4 digit short code. Would getting a short code work with TXTMail (so everything goes via email) or would it require different connectivity (and if so, what kind)?

The best way to find out is really getting in direct contact with either a Vodafone or Telecom New Zealand account manager - they will be able to tailor a solution for you. But it won't be any cheaper than what you have today.

Did some research on this topic mid last year and if my memory serves me right, you need to pay a fee to both Telecom and Vodafone to have a shortcode on their networks.  I think Telecom's fee is paid annually, and Vodafone's is monthly (or vice-versa).

I think the fee was (ball-park) 1500-2k.  Don't quote me, hopefully someone who has purchased a short code can fill in the blanks.

Try contacting these guys, I've dealt with them before and they know their stuff.
