ninjabear: na don't get an iphone. It's pretty much useless other than the fact its good for browsing. You can use your money elsewhere with better value and you know what everyone else has an iphone and exagerates the device .It's like they are zombies. Do you want to be one of them?
LOL! Other than insulting the users how is it useless? I like simplicity. That’s what it offers. My phone bill has never been lower per month (and I’m on a fairly average wage, I just budget well lol!), plus I have more minutes and data to boot. It suits my monthly usage perfectly and is amazingly versatile. I could go on about how much I like the thing. My advice, try both devices you are considering buying and go from there. Too many people bag iPhones because they are popular which is just stupid. Small, talented developers have now got a great platform with many users which is another positive. The iPhone is really a platform that has enabled the users/developers to shape the device. It will only keep evolving.
To put data use into context. I have on average 8mb to use a day. Last month I used around 12mb. I use my phone a lot at home on the wifi network, and a lot out and a about. 3.0 will change this though. I predict I will use a lot more so I’ll see how that goes.
Meh that’s enough. I like it and that’s all there is too it!
Dulouz: I ended up going for neither iphone or Blackberry and have just purchased the Nokia 5800, VF have a pretty good deal on these at the moment and it looks like it can do everything I want.
Dulouz: Talk 60,
Dulouz: I am considering buying a new phone - either an iphone or a Blackberry but think the current prices through Vodafone are a bit expensive.instead of an iphone or a blackberry have you thought about the other smartphone options?
I have a theory that once we have some competition (i.e. Telecom opens their new network or NZ Comms starts up.) handset prices will go down.
I just can't stomach spending around $900 on a phone while still having to sign up to a two year contract knowing that in other markets people get their phones for free or at least heavily subsidised.
Is it worthwhile delaying the purchase? Or should I just bite the bullet and face the reality in a market like NZ we will always have to pay high handset prices??
