deadlyllama: Any suggestions of places in Wellington? My android developer phone got its screen cracked while I was in Manila. Went to MobileFoneRepair only to discover that the Wellington shop no longer exists :-(

no longer exists? WTF! First I've heard.

Have you called their main office to find out for sure? They might have moved.

I find it hard to believe, that the licenced Vodafone Repair company has closed down one of their stores.

From the email they sent when I asked:

We no longer have a repair agent in Wellington but we do have a Drop of
point for customer.

Next Electronics
Rolex Building
27 Jarden Mile
Ngauranga

Hmm, thats interesting.

Ahh yeah, NEXT Electronics sounds about right.

Thats bizzare, they must be really feeling a pinch then, because they used to have three main centers.
AUckland, Wellington, Christchurch (from memory).

Its a shame too, because if you were able to go in off the street, then usually they look at it and give you a diagnosis within 40 minutes (at least thats my experience with the Auckland branch) but when I sent my mobile in. It was like snail pace.

I repair my own phones. getting spare parts can be hard but I often buy another phone examtly same model for parts. If lucky I may be able to fix both and sell the other. Now I have a Jasjam to type this.
