It's making me reconsider my pre-order. I have the worst luck, if I was in the middle of the desert with a starving Ethiopian child the vultures would be circling me first :(.

I really do hope these are first-batch issues, and my order gets filled in the 2nd.

Nop, the first batch get a few defectives but its like 3 people / 600 had that microphone problem and 2/ thousands got the screen black out issues. Just hope mine among the good one too. But I don't even have a clue when mine is coming. My sister has not called me or letting me know when either. Hope and keep on Hoping, it would be my best Xmas present I've ever have :) if I get it before Xmas that is.

Well, if you are patient enough the second batch should be of better quality and of course, you will save yourself some cash.

well next batch will be 2010 February 10 man. You have to be insane to wait that long and already paid for it. Beside UK Flagship store will have it instore on the 5December this year.

There is no diffences between the first batch and the second batch. First batch is by ship, second is by plane, but 2nd batch is less than the first batch.

GSMarena review is up, pretty positive overall, well worth a read (as usual with their detailed reviews).

I just find out that my Sister and brother in law bought my N900 from Amazon.com for 479.99USD. So I am hoping they dispatch it on the same time as the other.

Hi all have been watching this thread since birth, now getting to crunch time "touch wood" I thought I would finally say hey!

Great thread and good to see a bunch of N900 fans like myself, I can see a great community once we all have this device in hand.

My short story, a friend has family in US and he has pre ordered three phones through
Newegg this was around two months ago, price was $559 I think and
delivery date stated was 30/11/09  . I have just noticed that Newegg
has removed the date and price is $649?

I noticed a few pages back people talking about Newegg pre orders, so
are we all in the same boat? I was wanting to know if anyone has been
in correspondence with Newegg since and got feed back on what is going on?

Seems like a world wide famine of N900s

Oops after thought maybe Newegg have collected pre orders and are now showing a current new order price for the next shipment? makes sense due to the shortage of N900 why they would not be advertising the date? I really hope this is the case.

(fingers & toes crossed)

Prices are all over the show, seems all the big sites do quick specials to get noticed and traffic to their sites, then put the price back up again...

Dell again posted another quick special, was $449 US, but was very brief and it is now back to $549 US
Amazon is currently $499 US after rebate...
Newegg is $649

As for the wait...Nokia are doing themselves no favors with the ongoing delays, changing arrival/shipping dates, release dates etc...its all become part of a running joke really.
