c71931f: Well somebody doesn't want their's..
Is this a bad price considering all the cost's to get it here via amazon?
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Mobile-phones/Vodafone/Nokia/auction-261187090.htm

mmm not really. getting mine for $549.99 USD + $8.50 USD (Shipito.com fee) + Whatever shipping will cost to NZ from California. There is the possibility of customs stopping it and taxing me too of course.

That guys making some interesting claims like how NZ won't be getting it (even though Vodafone NZ probably will but because it's so early they haven't announced anything yet) and that it's the cheapest price in NZ when it's second-hand not New!

maxximuscool: I chased after it since yesterday and today to find out where the item is at. I called NZ custom, NZpost, Contact my Sister and Brother In law to contacting the USPS regarding the shipping status.

==========USPS EXPRESS MAIL INTERNATIONAL (3-5 Business day)===========

Your item left the United States from ISC MIAMI FL (USPS) at 5:05 PM on December 15, 2009. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

* International Dispatch, December 15, 2009, 5:05 pm, ISC MIAMI FL (USPS)
* Arrival
* Processed through Sort Facility, December 15, 2009, 7:49 am, MIAMI, FL 33112
* Processed through Sort Facility, December 14, 2009, 7:28 pm, ORLANDO, FL 32899
* Acceptance, December 14, 2009, 5:15 pm, ORLANDO, FL 32814

================More than 80hours later, Still no update=================

It's been 4days since it is shipped and yet nothing comes up on their database system. Tracking number is completely useless and stupid. Beside I might get the Custom tax and duty as well. This is bollix.

It can take up to a week. Items are not sent in commercial flights. They have their own planes, and must follow some routes. Sometimes they send to other sorting facilities, where it waits for a plane flying down to AU/NZ. Then there's the customs processing in Auckland, etc.

As said before, it's Christmas time. All couriers and post services have plenty of work around, so a bit of patience goes a long way. They haven't invented teleportation yet, you know?

maxximuscool:  Bad Exprience with USPS service. lesson is learnt...

I wouldn't say that. If they were a month late, or lost your package, yes. But as I read it I feel it's just you being impatient.

Even more interesting since Vodafone UK announced the N900 from early next year, so I doubt Vodafone won't distribute this through other countries...

My N900 arrived today via my friend from NYC Flagship store. Getting to grips with it and have installed a few new apps. Having difficulty with DRNOKSNES, anyone got this going. I get almost there and it says something about installation package blh blah.
Good 3G coverage even in Sumner!
Email with xtra working OK.
My Nokia AC6 charger that I got from Nokiacare CHCH works fine for charging it, but I have also dicovered that bending the US plug to fit our sockets works fine thanks to it being 110-230v.

This is certainly a trailblazers and geeks phone but hey isn't that why we love this forum. Next firmware update will make things smoother but I think it lives up to its hype thus far.

maxximuscool...bro...you just don't quit do you?

You said yourself the delivery time is 3-5 business days...and reading your posts your at either the 3rd or 4th day...so technically you have nothing to complain about at this point if the mobile was to arrive in the next day or two...

That said, it likely will not arrive in the next day or so...as it is the weekend, which are not counted as 'business days', therefore, it will take a little longer.

Stop stressin mate, and please stop posting hourly updates where your package is up to.

Hey Everyone. I have a Few questions if I may please about the Nokia N900 (Sorry if im thread Hi-Jacking in anyway). Im sure these Are answered Simply, Just unsure and dont want to get myself into something im unsure about.

1) I have never bought a Phone from Overseas/Parallel Imported. So im un aware how it all works as such. Im guessing if I was to purchase the N900 I just Pop VF Sim in and away I go? Or do I need to activate it some other way?

2) Would it have any Branding? on it? By that I mean Would the American Network/s come up? EG T-Mobile? If so, is it simple enough to remove?

3) Would I have full Access to the OVI Store? Or Would I be Limited in NZ as to what I could get because of the fact it came from overseas?

4) Does it Support Java?

I think thats it for now. Thanks for all the answers guys. Remember Xmas is coming up, so if you help me out im sure Santa will repay your Karma :D

Hi guys, just an update on playing with the phone.
DRNOKSNES is working, followed the instructions on unlockr.com which are superb btw. It seems application manager is worth giving some respect to. I mucked around in X terminal but have no idea about linux. I now am playing Super Mario, tempest,asteroids,Contra 3,DonkyKong Country,Streetfighter 2, centipede etcc to cap off this geek love fest. Couldn't get the mame emulator to work but found the old SNES roms had plenty of atari magic collections. Quake 3 open source also there but won't grab that till I get my 16g microSD card.
Apparently there is a micro usb adaptor that fits on the old nokia skinny chargers. Did anyone get this in their package??
Phone not so good with Bluetooth, doesn't work perfectly with the Nokia Ck7w in my car but maybe the much anticpated firmware update will fix this.
Loving it on the web and it works nicely with my 2 email accounts.
Irreco is cool, this can now make my phone work my home theatre amp via IR, not sure if it will do myskyhdi.
GPS lock is quick, way quicker than my N95.
This phone is like a Ferrari, unpredictable, expensive but bloody fun if you have the time and yes all the sensible iphone users who drive Golf Gti's will think you are a knob
