I got DataPilot to recognize my Sanyo MM-5600 on my old computer but I got a new computer and can't remeber how I did it:(

It took 3 or 4 days of "frigging about."

I have drivers installedetc - phone open and in Standby position.

The cables appear to work - they charge the phone and I can connect via Mass Storage or Pic bridge.

When I open DataPilot it can't detect the phone. It detects Com3: USB Susteen Modem and I pick Sanyo but in the model list the 5600 doesn't show and it won't auto detcect.

On my old computer the model shows in the model list.

Any suggestions???

Thank you

Simon

Update Datapilot?

As you're from the US and presumably running the US version of Datapilot the next step would be to contact them directly for support.

Or use BitPim

Nice an easy, open-source. If the drivers still don't work let me know I can upload some alternative ones

Thanks for your replies. Susteen won't help as I am using 3rd party cables.

SilentOne you said open - Source? Sorry but what's Source - I can't find it on the phone or on DataPilot?

Thank you
Simon

Open-source means that its source-code or the programming code its created from is availible for free for tinkering etc.... basicially in this case.. its FREE.... try BitPim its a really good option.. works great

Thx Oh Silentone! I got BitPim - there was no setup for MM_5600 so I used MM-7400.
I could import the phone book but nothing else. Is there any way to get an MM-5600 update so I can upload/download photos ringers and etc.??
Thx

Yup.

Photos should have imported from the phone though they have to be stored in "My Pictures" -> "In Camera" I can't remem if it drags the "Saved to phone" photos.

I just checked, the 5600 isn't there which is strange but the MM-7400 selection should work, if not try using the SCP-8100 or others in the SCP range.

For ringers, it will only let you download and upload Midi ringers.... but the guide above shows you how to have truetone mp3 files.. so basically any sound you want.... its easy enough to have any noise or song you want.

Remeber to tick the photo option when you choose Data -> Get Phone Data... it brings up a box with what you want the program to get.
