My  Nokia 6255 phone is v2600 software and was OK with PC suite 6.8 rel 20 but since updating to rel 21 I have trouble with storeing images. The problem is it does not just download new images but also all stored images. This happens everytime . I have tried different options but it just seems to not recognise the date .Most of the pictures in the phone have been uploaded to the phone and I dont want to remove them. I have uninstalled rel 21 and reinstalled rel 20 again and everything works OK. Synch worked OK with rel 21 for address book info. Your assistance would be appreciated.

Why not just leave Rel20 installed? Unless 21 provides some extra great benefits i cant see any point in upgrading from something that works perfectly fine. It not exactly like its a brand new version, probably just an upgrade to support a couple of newer phones. I have Rel20 and will be keeping that until 6.9 or 7 comes out

the PC suite now has an icon saying update PC suite.I think this is a process like Norton and Windows update which gets the updates and installs them.the Nokia Asia site lists these improvements.
Latest Update: Version 6.8 Update

Fixes to component registration problems during the installation of PC Suite 6.8 Playback problems of some AAC files fixed
Transfer music to your phone with upgraded Nokia Music Manager
Faster music and video file conversions
Simplified PC Sync user interface
New language: Vietnamese
Released 16 May 2006

note nothing about new models but the reference to sync improvements does interest me as sync is still a bit flakey. I am wanting to find out if it is something I have done or a software problem.

I would say from the sounds of it that it is a PC Suite problem. It worked fine till you installed the new one which didnt work and when reinstalling the old one it worked fine.

Did you download the CDMA version of PC Suite. Also the 6255 might not be supported by the latest version. Check the website, it has a table showing the latest supported version for each phone.

I have downloaded by clicking the PC Suite icon and by using the 6255CDMA option from the nokiaasia.com site.
Can you give me the URL to check compatability and how to use? I saw one earlier and could not make head nor tail of it.

that is the same link and file I have. Can you try downloading it and test the store image option to see if it downloads all the .jpg pictures in the phone everytime?

The process should be the same for both versions. So as long as you are doing the same thing as you were before then there shouldnt be a problem.

Myabe you should stick to the older version and wait until an even newer one comes out, that could solve your current problems

obviously Nokia expected it to work. If you read my previous posts you will see I have filled in the options on an earlier version  and receive auto updates and just click to install. This type process does not tell you versions etc it is just having faith in the process. No doubt others will do the same. There is no option to miss one etc .If it effects others..fine.. the problem is Nokias.   If it is just me ....I have some searching to do.

Brad, Nokia have bought out rel 22 and it still does not work for me.Is there a known bug list for PC suite or do you know someone who can do a duplicate test for me? At present I still don't know if it something I am doing or a fault. Your assistance would be appreciated..

Argh, i just lost the whole big reply i wrote.....

Anyway, long story short: Rel 21 and 22 image transfer copies ALL the images from my 6265. Seems to be a software issue there. Thats a bit annoying when you have lots of images at 600Kb each.

I know its a apin but i save all my images to a different folder once it has been sync'd and then each time pick the new ones and copy into there

I was initially doing what you said but each download was 91 pictures and 5 videos.. (nearly 10 meg) so I gave up and re-installed rel 20 as you earlier suggested. On the bright side...it looks like its not just me but a software issue. Any way of finding out if Nokia have a fix on the way?

I prefer "ctrl + c". I actually had clicked out of the text area by mistake when i hit backspace, so i went back a back. When i tried going forward it was goneCry
