I don't know what Sony Ericsson's policy is but you might be surprised at how many well established manufacturers do not offer international warranties with their products.

When I worked in retail, I once tried to sell an HP printer to a young English couple who intended to eventually take it home with them. I was fairly sure that HP would offer an international warranty, but I told the customers that I would double check because I didn't want to sell the machine to them on false pretences. As it turned out, the sales rep from HP advised me that the warranty on most of their consumer products was only valid in the country of purchase. I understand that others have had similar experiences when purchasing other electronic and camera products.

Yeah thats probably the case, its so that everyone doesn't go and order them from overseas at much lower prices... blah blah blah...

Still, everyone keep nagging and hopefully they'll change their minds.

Good news then - just got an e-mail from my contacts with Sony Ericsson New Zealand and he confirmed they have plans to launch both the black and white versions of the T630!

Here's an e-mail for you guys to read. Apparently they can't confirm until AFTER the release ??? :S Have replied to ask them what they mean.

----------------------------------------------
Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Center.

Answer:
Peter,
We are considering releasing the white T630, but I am unable to confirm it. We will not be sure until they are released.

Best Regards,

Question:
Subject: T630 Colours
I recently contacted you concerning the fact that
only the black T630 would be released here in New
Zealand.

A friend just told me that he received a message
from you saying that you have decidedr to release
both the black and white version.

If this is true it would be great news. Can you
confirm this for me?

Peter, I can't open the name here, but my confirmation came from the person in charge of marketing for this product, not from CSR. And it came to me without I having to ask anything. It was an e-mail about something else, and the T630 comment was just inserted into the sequence. He's probably looking at this thread.

For anyone thats interested the possible successor to the T630 has been shown on a Sony Ericsson TV advertisement.

Check out www.clubsonyericsson.com (look for it on the opening page), download the video file and watch at about the 1:03min mark. Enjoy.

We additionally inform you that the video has only been published by violating secrecy and non-disclosure agreements. This means that any further disclosure of such video is illegal and represents unfair competition. It was in the news yesterday. Sony Ericsson released a video that at certain point showed the T650. It was a slip, like the one they did with the P900. My guess is that they do this to hype the market...

Now the video is "off limits" again.
