I just need a little help with getting my head around Office 365. I'm helping some family update/add to their mobiles/tablets/PCs setup and also get them off their ISP provided email address. They're basically a couple with their own PCs, tablets etc. One is semi-retired and still does some work from home. At first glance office 365 home premium coupled together with an email address each seems like a good fit. The mutiple licenses will cover their office computing needs and outlook/skydrive cover their email and cloud storage. They also travel a little bit sometimes with limited internet access but it's my understanding that the office suite is still useable offline. It would be great for them to be able to share their calendars etc "Keep the family organized. Stay in sync with Outlook email, shared calendars, and task-list tools" is a line on the home premium site. What's the difference then with Small Business Premium? They would have to get 2 licences at $199.20 each, it has shared calendars as one of it's features? Would what I had planned with Home Premium/outlook email be sufficient for the 2 of them? I'm thinking the advantage with the Small Business Premium email is that you can use your own domain and it has the 99.9% uptime gurantee etc with 24/7 phone support. Seems a little overkill in their situation.

Send private message will let the user's share their calendar with each other. Office 365 Home Premum will work along with as you have proposed.

Office 365 Small Business Premium will get you hosted exchange so no need to worry about and guaranteed SLA. You also get 25GB mailbox where as does have a limit of 10GB. (It could be unlimited as they say it is but when I was migrating a user across from Exchange server to address, it stopped sending/receiving new emails from that account after 10GB though there were notifications to confirm the account which might have fixed the 10GB limit.

With Office 365 Home Premium you get free 60 free world minute with Skype every month and for a limited time a 12 month xbox live gold subscription which you can prob sell to someone on trademe to recover some of the subscription costs.

Office 365 Home Premium + email addresses will do what you want to do.

Do whatever you want to do man.
