We have a small Access database that needs to be updated by several people.  It is not a business situation with a server so without being able to share the database, all the information has to be passed to one person.

What alternative databases systems would you recommend?  Cost is an issue.

Thank you.

There's no reason, when built appropriately, Access cannot have multiple users.

OTOH you can migrate your database (backend ) from Access to MS SQL and use the low end version for free (limited to 2 GB).

If you really want a cloud alternative <I think> from there you can migrate to Azure.

To follow on from elpenguino's suggestion, an Azure MSsql Instance may be a little pricey, but as I don't know you use, case or circumstance so hard to say.

But another option is to export it to MYSQL or mongodb and run an instance on a small Linux machine in a vps service like digital ocean or vultr.
