After a few nights fault finding I have narrowed it down to one of my beloved TiVo's. It has started to intermittently drop it's HDMI output (handshake issues?). Sometimes it blinks on and off every second, and sometimes the signal gets lost altogether. A quick unplug of the HDMI cable or turning the TV off and on fixes it till it occurs next time. Often coincides with a new recording starting or finishing. Cables and TV's have been eliminated, and the issue does not occur when the suspected faulty unit is replaced with my other TiVo.
Given they are obsolete in NZ (sob sob) are these worth repairing? If so who does the repairs? (Waikato)
In the event I will have to resign to replacing it with something else (I refuse to go back to watching live TV), what else in the PVR offerings even comes close?
Damn these first world problems!
Edit: Well out of warranty an unfortunately probably borderline on the CGA as well.
