I've just checked the usage meter now, and it still says: "You're on an Unlimited Data plan!
Don't worry about your usage, you can keep doing what you want to do without any surprise charges."

It was eye opening to see our daily usage once metering kicked in. We burnt through approximately 20GB on Sunday, which was pretty much our standard SVOD viewing. So we definitely needed to upgrade to an unlimited account. 150GB probably wouldn't have lasted a week :-)

We switched just before the cut off time, i do wonder why Spark  just can't tell us (once on unlimited plan ) how much you are using per month

I purposely didn't because I wanted to see what our daily usage was like. Also, I was overseas for 3 weeks, and didn't really fancy doing offshore tech support if anything went wrong.

Perhaps in case it encouraged idiots to compete with each other to see how big they could get their total usage in a month.... This type of behaviour would put unnecessary load on the network and spoil the Interweb experience for others.

If your plan is unlimited, it shouldn't matter how much you use.

That's the point.

"Unlimited means never having to worry about your data cap"

coffeebaron: No! Don't stand for it, take it to Fair Go. It is so unreasonable of Spark to end their unmetered data, that was only ever a bonus and they have every right to bring to an end. tongue-out

He wasn't complaining, he was stating it, informationally for others to know.

JAYJAY: It's been amazing.  Unlimited traffic.  It's been a great ride.  As someone put it to me "It'd be good to have been told the ride was over, and we had to get off"   -- All good things must come to an end.
My plan change is in the works.  Didn't happen overnight unfortunately, but should be sorted overnight tonight.

Interestingly, I think someone else I know was on the same plan, and either had no advice that the plan was changing or they were simply oblivious to what they were getting already.

I know of some very high functioning people and some very ordinary people who have no clue about technology, specs of their every day items, or whether sending a txt message cost them or not!

Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

When I was on a metered plan, I think I used more data than now, as I would always try to use that last 20G else it would be wasted surprised

Now I can watch/download whatever & whenever so am not fussed.
