Being a TiVo fan I have several TiVos & the home network package. More recently & going back for over many months I am having numerous faults with the Genie remote programing not working in several ways. I am on the "Waikato" setting. TiVo support have been unable to sort the problem and have indirectly indicated they have received other reports of TiVo Genie issues within NZ. I would be interested to here of other problems people are having & any resolution (if any).  Thanks.

I am also BOP but use the Waikato region selection which previously had always worked fine.

I now get on 2 of 3 TiVos when trying to send request is.. "ERROR OCURRED. Problem with the output. see errorlog" in a little black box on top left of the TiVo Genie web page.

On the 3rd TiVo the request is normally sent but never arrives at the TiVo.

I can confirm it is broken and produces your error, so guessing it applies to most or all of NZ. A pity these companies don't update their status page if they are aware of the problem, as it would save customers a lot of time.

Anyone with a problem should complain to "Hybrid TV Level 3 Support" at this email address. support@mytivo.com.au with their issue(s).

Surely if enough people make noises the squeaky wheel syndrome will kick in & someone will actually take notice and try to fix it !

Also may help by contacting Spark, as they were the retailer of Tivo in New Zealand, and the support number goes to Spark (or at least it used to).  Tivo Dan used to reply here where there were issues, but not sure he works for them anymore, or if they have much in the way of staff these days.

Last time I spoke to anyone from Spark they claimed that they no longer supported TiVo.That may not have been the official story but it certainly was the message sent out by two different Spark call centre staff after a very lengthy delay on hold. I read several chapters of a book while listening to some of Spark's crappy music on hold the last time I attempted to find TiVo support. I'm sure thingies are not likely to get better.

If you phone their support number now, just tried it, it still goes to Spark. So Spark would still be the agents in NZ to support it.So sounds like their CSR are telling people the wrong thing if they say they don't support it, as it is  clearly Sparks phone number on the Tivo website. 0800 69 8486  at http://support.mytivo.co.nz/ . You probably have to escalate it to get through to the right people.

I did notice that the quickflix number on the same page no longer allows you to speak to a real person, it just tells you to go to their website. I guess that is the way support is now heading. This is fine as long as it is actually responsive online support, but most companies treat emails poorly and can take days, if not weeks to reply to online support tickets.

Just tested it here in Auckland.  Got the error when I went to remote schedule a program.   Maybe after 6 years or so they have decided it's the end of the road in NZ..

The activation & deactivation service in still functional & the EPG still is updated including Four changing to Bravo. Hopefully suppose is ongoing but I think it's not a priority re the TiVo Genie. Send them an email at the address above. There are so many TiVo's out there & we all love them. Make a noise & we could get this sorted & continued support for many years to come.

It has failed before and they did fix it, as I had another thread about this same topic. I haven't used it for a while so didn't notice it this time. It is a great feature, but I am a bit over freeview programs these days, apart from the odd movie.

Surely a lot of TiVo owners would use the remote scheduling option ?

Hmmmm. Looks like I might be the only one who wants TiVo Genie fixed or is prepared to try and get TiVo support to follow it up.

I use it once in a blue moon.  So not very often.

I've just tried logging into Genie remotely via http://genie.mytivo.co.nz and worked fine.  I'm using "Wellington" as my region but don't have and never had the Home Networking Package but do have three TiVos linked to the same login.  Two belong to my parents and is just easier for them to be activated through me.

Anyone else that doesn't have the HNP having issues?  Possibly an issue with accounts using HNP?

Oh, it logs in fine. But have you tried recording something, as that is when the error comes up.?
