I can be patient (now that I have an explanation). TiVo is for my wife. My MythTV is still working fine.

Ok so another update on this, I've just done 3 reboots and I now have EPG untill Tuesday next with the correct time, so a work in progress indeed.

TENKAN: So how can we be sure that we even connecting to the OZ mothership?
Because when I did a restart (reboot ) before tonight I always got a pop up on the top right hand corner of the tv screen saying welcome to oz community and some other stuff I never really took notice of, I no longer get that anymore.

If you got a new tivo message which is a welcome msg from oztivo, then you are most definitely connected.

The stuff you refer to is the new features opened up, like backdoor menus etc, telnet ability, and 30 second skip which is the button that use to skip all the way to the end of a recording, which will now do 30 sec increments straight away.

So if something had reverted, these should all not work.

I did a restart of my modded tivo which has been connected for a while now, and had no problems, ie all was as expected with the mods still in place.

The mod stuff comes up when the animated tivo is ontop of the mountain ridge vista during is video promo.

Just a thought...

The ones having trouble are you doing a WIFI connect or a hardwired Lan connect ?

Wired, but I suspect most don’t realise that original tivo had 14 day epgs and oztive like any other epg source is only 7 days. So hence at least everyone needs to not play and just wait another 5 days at least until the original tivo epg expires off the guide, and therefore doesn’t interfere with the oztivo epg data.

So I’m not concerned yet and won’t be playing with things unnecessarily. Others should follow suite.

People with time issues, what version of software is your TiVo running? One of the changes from 11.3b8 to 11.3b10 was using internet time servers instead of getting time from the mothership. Mine is running 11.3b10 and is on the correct DST, before and after a 'clear programs and to-do list'.

Mine is 11.3b10 and stuck on Standard Time.

I've just done another full reset with guided setup to fix my EPG (after my "Clear program info & to do list" mistake - DON"T DO THAT!).

So as well as time being out 1hr, the whole EPG is out one hour. (ie. it says 6pm news is at 5pm)

Though, this still means it records programs correctly.

I'm certain there is no mixup with old EPG data as mentioned above.

Positive all EPG data is Oz after a full reset (some programs have star ratings in description and series seem to have episode stuff like this: s10e03)

And i can't see why wired or wifi to the same network would make any difference at all.

I've tried 6 reboots to no effect so I will hope that the auto update at 9:40 tonight will sort it out.

Got my test Tivo up and running (big thank you to my younger brother who sourced blanks PROMS and sockets, hacked up a programmer converter, loaded the PROM image and spent 3 hours soldering like a trooper) connected to the OzTivo mothership and there are a few guide data comments .  They may settle down later but for now:

About 7 days of data

If I search by title and restrict to Movies only you get all sorts of programmes and sometimes movies are excluded - there must be a "movie" tag in the metadata that is not being set. So if looking for movies you seem to have to search through all programmes to find them which is a pity as once you have season passes set up those who don't like sport are really looking for movie events.  Of course sportophiles might have the same issue.

Pressing info when a program to record is selected gets you a lot more technical information about a recording than the old server does - but no obvious "movie" category for example.

The 30 second skip seems to use the same button the "section" skip did and I think the latter was more useful - need to dig into the back doors manual

Speaking of which - anyone know where the instructions for the additional features are such as backdoors, what they do, how to get in to set up Tivoweb etc... I suspect they are scattered through a lot of the old Tivo Series 1 instructions.

Still - looking good so far and big thanks to the selfless elves who made this possible....

As mentioned somewhere else or earlier in this thread; Section skip is simply two buttons FF then button, or REW then button.

OK so I patiently waited until last night for the daily "network connection" which was successful in that I now have an EPG.

My system time is correct but the EPG is not current (see these screenshots). Every channel seems to start around 1pm. This is not just an offset of X hours because they all started at 1pm last night too.

Yep I get exactly the same thing, they are having the same problem in oz and Dr. Tivo has been been telling them to try changing the post code or wait it out for them to iron out the bugs.

I'm curious as to who is moderating the star rating?  Is it related to TiVo suggestions (thumbs up/thumbs down) history or is the data being scraped from a TV episode database?

I just sent this email to Dr. TiVo......

I know that you and your volunteers are not expecting payment for your work and time but that does not mean that TiVo users do not value it.

Please provide a way that we can (if we so wish) contribute money to the cause.
