Is anyone else noticing that some slots on some channels are showing as “to be advised”. Prime is the worst of the lot. But if you select one of these then the actual programme name displays in the top window, but some are not accurate.

This is happening on even the current days data.

If compare to epg on Freeview tv or the epg website, that data is all there.

Have you done a Clear Program Information & To Do list since modding your TiVo? This step seems to help a lot at getting a reliable EPG going again.

I noticed the guide data for TV1 last night was missing a program at 9.30pm (truth about meat) however the 'plus1' data was correct and complete.

Is there a forum related to the group that is gathering this data?  I'd be interested in knowing more about how it is done. Maybe I can help.

I'm hoping to get one of mine done  next week.  One thing.  Assuming that there will be software updates over the next year, how will those be done,  Via the internet as TiVo does now or will we have to pull out the hard disk and do it manually??

I'd assume as the units have been unlocked so they connect directly to the OzTiVo mothership, updates would come via the net.  I'm curious as to whether the core OS will just be maintained for security reasons or if new features will be added previously not available on our series of TiVo that are now available in newer MyFreeview boxes.

It's more a wish list and not even sure if our TiVo's are physically capable given their age but features like being able to record simultaneously from channels on the same network ("Mux"?) on the same tuner would be awesome.  e.g. if a Season Pass was set to record programme 'x' but it clashed whether it would record the same episode from a +1 channel if available etc...  This would eliminate many conflicts.

There was talk of unlocking the Home Networking Package much further down the track which would be great though not so much for my single TiVo household.

Ultimately as all our units were effectively heading for landfill or facing having to pay an e-recycler to dispose of them, any work no matter how big or small by the community is appreciated.

A update on what's in store for our beloved Tivos.

The official Tivo mothership run by Hybrid is scheduled to be shut down this Friday, so if your unmodified Tivo hasn't been connected to the network in the last week or so, please do so without delay. You DO want it to download the latest 11.3b10.2017XXXX software, as this will be an advantage in future, and preferable for those that decide to just stay with a "dumb old VCR" box, or for those that have their Tivos modified to work with the OzTivo mothership. Remember, that guided setups etc, won't work after this date, unless your Tivo has been modified with PROM change and the Community software/patch.

Some people have got so used to the old style "forward skip" button taking you to the end instead of giving back the 30 second forward skip "ad killer" function, that work is taking place to give a choice for that key, in the next software release that will eventually be pushed to your modified Tivo.

Here is some more very useful information: http://hd.oztivo.net/twiki/bin/view/S3FAQ/S3HowToKeepUsingTiVo

I have two (original 320gb) back up drives from my original Tivos.

They are the original drives they came with and that I copied to move to larger 1tb and 2TB drives.

Should I put these original WD 320 Green drives back in and update (remove and then store again) or leave them?

If it was me Max, I'd leave them as they are, as long as they have the final Hybrid software version. It's good to have a clean starting point that you can easily patch any time in the future, especially if you had the HNP, where having a original image is good IMHO. However, if you removed them before the final software was pushed down, then yes, I'd hook them back up.

I just found and hauled my spare no. 4 Tivo out of the cupboard, fired it up, it connected to the NZ mothership and is doing what ever it has to do right now.  It lives again, ready for it's hardware and firmware upgrades.  Very hardy things.  This one came down from  auckland active service, in a shopping bag, on a bus and has been mis handled from place to place ever since.  Still goes like a new one.   Might have spoken to soon.  It wants to be activated and is sitting on Loading info and is stuck on 99%.  Can't access any menues but several free to air channels are there to watch.  Bit reluctant to try and power it off in case i brick it. Any suggestions please?

I'd patiently let it stay connected. a long connect means it's probably downloading the latest software.

I thought that was a bad idea to do that, something about loosing the MAK, so I just deleted out all entries in the to do list only.

Can it be confirmed that that step is required ? Or that it won’t stop anything else working.

It is safe to specifically choose a Clear Program Data and To Do list. This won't lose your MAK and ensures a nice trouble free EPG without a mixture of old and new. For example last night one of my Tivos that hadn't had this done, messed up TV3 Newhub at 6pm thinking it ran to 9pm. A "Clear Program Data and ToDo List" followed by a trip to the OzTivo mothership fixed all that and more. Please be patient as indexing a fresh EPG can take many hours. Remember also that your season passes won't be cleared when you do this, and you'll need to re-create them after deleting them.

My own experience. When I modded my TiVo I did a Clear Program Data & To Do List followed by a connect to ozTiVo service in the evening, but there was no updating apparently happening. I ran a second ozTiVo service connect then with the same result. The following morning I checked before going to work, and still the EPG was blank and I did another service connect. It wasn't till I checked again after getting back from work that day that the EPG had been populated, and it all looked in good shape.

Sometimes the EPG update following a service check is just about instantaneous, and sometimes it... isn't. It can sometimes take a big chunk of a day before the EPG comes up.

Thats right. My guide was all stuffed up last night so I did Clear Progrm Data & To Do List, then a connect to the server.

Still no guide after 1 hr so I did another connect just to be sure, The loading info flew through to 99% so I left it.

Woke up this morning still no guide at all, so I did another connect and loading info was a lot slower.

A full guide appeared straight away while it had only just started loading info and I now have more than 7 days worth.
