After our extended humidity (98 percent the other night) my TV decided not to work so I turned everything off. Now the humidity has dropped TV is back, but TiVo is stuck on "just a few minutes more" for half an hour. I've unplugged everything, waited, plugged it all back in. Same issue. Any ideas? It's of course a bit old. Is this its last gasp?

There's a good chance the hard disk is failing. All  Tivos sold in NZ had 320GB hard disks manufactured in 2009, so quite a few are failing. Some of the earlier test units has 160GB drives. I'd say it's well worth getting it looked at. Owners of Tivos tend to be very enthusiastic about them, and with Vodafone TV closing down in September 2022, Tivo is still an excellent Freeview recorder with an excellent community supported program guide , assuming the Tivo's been modified for it.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See:

My late husband (the original Maxcat on this forum) put a 1TB harddrive in this one. It seems unresponsive, but I've put another three through their paces and one appears to be modded and working fine.
One was completely dead, one doesn't appear to be modded (no programme info), and the other won't get past the "just a few minutes more" page.
Let's see how long this one lasts. Max died almost three years ago so they've done well!
