First of all I have kmttg up and running and can get a .tivo onto my PC.
Now I would like to send it back and so that is why I installed PyTivo.

I am running Vista and installed the Rdian06 windows installer and then updated it, by using this How to Update pyTivo-wmcbrine-2009.03.19-RC1 to Latest Wmcbrine Git Snapshot [http://goo.gl/wudD] (as recommended).
I also installed "5) If you want to be able to push .tivo files (pulling .tivo files works properly in the newer wmcbrine code and doesn't require tivodecode), then grab the special version of tivodecode from this thread and extract it to Program Files\pyTivo\bin:"

A) Push - does this mean that I am sending files from the TiVo to the PC?

I currently have the TiVo Desktop 'paused' and running PyTivo on the console.

Here is my pyTivo.conf (which has been copied to the Program Files\pyTivo folder.

When running Configure - Admin Web I can see the programs on the TiVo by clicking the View Now Playing List. If I click on the Transfer This link, then it says Initiating Transfer Please Wait. Only a small number of bytes is transferred e.g. 8192 to start and after a minute or so it moves to 10244. Thereafter, nothing seems to happen.

B) Its no big deal as kmttg is working but I will always wonder what the problem may be.

In Configure - Admin Web, if I go to Video Shares, I can see the .tivo files which came from the TiVo box via kmttg.
So now I would like to send a file back.
If I click on the Send to Tivo button then I get the Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage - Diagnose Connection Problems.

C) Bearing in mind I can see the TiVo box via the View NOw Playing List, I don't what the issue could be.

I only looked at this thread because I wondered what PyTivo was - and now I know....

I assume you got no joy from the PyTivo forum?
http://pytivo.sourceforge.net/forum/

I would have picked that as being your best bet for support.

Try this -

Tivo username = the username you use to logon to mytivo.co.nz
password = the password for the above
tivo mind = nzmind.tivo.com:8181

OK, I still couldn't get pyTivo working, so I have (to be best of my knowledge) wiped every trace of it and started again.
So far, I have re-installed from scratch (I do wish there was a Windows Installer that was up-to-date). In testing, I have been able to transfer from my PC a file that originated from the TiVo box (via kmttfg) but have not been able to play it.

I do wish I was a geek! I really do try and read/understand the pyTivo forums/wikis.

My new pytivo.conf is

keys = root

In your Tivo's play list do you see MY Videos and can you see files inside it?  If you cannot see any of the files on your pc from your Tivo then you need to open port 9032 in your pc's firewall.

Can you pull files from your Tivo rather than pushing from the pc?

When you run the pyTivo web admin do you see "Push from video shares:" or just "Web configuration"?

Is the pyTivo service showing as started?

Here's my config file (my videos share is called PC not My Videos).

I have it working.

I made a stupid mistake when I upgraded my windows installer version with the latest wmcbrine.git which I downloaded as a zip file.

I originally installed pyTivo into Program Files\pyTivo. What I didn't spot was that the root folder in the zip file was wmcbrine, so all I got was Program Files\pyTivo\wmcbrine.

What initially alerted me to an install issue was a 'cheetah' type error. The PyTivo forum said that the message could be ignored or upgrade to the latest version, which I had just downloaded.

Many thanks for the help from this forum.

I remembered the sub-folder this morning, glad you found it and have things working now.
