Considering they are owned by the same parent, I would think so anyway. They do price match.

You'd think so.  I tried to buy one for my parents during the boxing day sales, and Bond & Bond wouldn't price match.  So I had to drive to Noel Leeming.  Not a big deal, but Bond & Bond was closer.  Maybe your store might be more helpful.

Yes you are wrong. They apply for everyone, doesn't matter who your ISP is. The whole telecom thing being reuiqred to b your ISP to use a tivo, was misinformtion that probably prevented them being taken up.

"Currently you need to have a Telecom broadband connection to receive the downloadable content."
Glad to see freeview are keeping their website up to date.

Did you email them about it? If not, I will.

RXV: $199 again this weekend - this time at Bond & Bond

Thank you. My parents bought one to replace their S1 TiVo.

Mine arrived from Bond and Bond on Thursday...got it all plugged in and then it crashed to a plain grey screen on start up 3 times in a row. Eventually it worked and all was sweet - then we had a power cut on Thursday evening, blah.
Says it was made in Mexico in 2009 on the back so they must have plenty of old stick still I guess..

someone pointed this out to freeview on their fanpage, of which they said they would pass it on, their staff are completely incompetent, i've given up asking them anything when their is a problem and simply ask JDA who are very helpful.

I just got one of these, works well apart from daily losing TV1 and TV2 in my area, I see they have repeatedly falsely promised updates for this so if they cant fix it within the 10 days mentioned on their site from yesterday, this semi-useless box is going back for a refund.

Other than that, its great, but Im surprised and disappointed they used such a low-quality rattly uneven sounding exhaust fan.

Surely this is a Freeview problem and nothing to do with TiVo.   I don't see how you could buy a decoder that is not suitable for your area and then call it semi-useless.  Maybe you need to go with a sat decoder instead.

Other than that, its great, but Im surprised and disappointed they used such a low-quality rattly uneven sounding exhaust fan.

On my 2 TiVo's the fan noise is pretty much the same as any other computer fan, and you definitely don't notice it at all when the tv is going.  Perhaps yours is actually faulty and should go back anyway.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

i actually can't hear the fan noise from mine, seems you have complained on two different threads, bad day?  also the update does fix the losing of tvnz channels, it was not tivo's fault but was due to the adding of new channels that caused a problem.

TIVO isn't related to freeview, so if freeview change anything, surely they're not obligued to tell anyone else?
