As am I - anyone who has one and is willing to sell at a average price (some markup is ok!) I will buy. :-)

Still nothing past 'processing' from ITD.

Nor are they answering email.

I fear failure.

Maybe everyone needs to take a step back from the madness?

update from wholesaler:

"HP is still yet to advise if we can take the stock to market" Yell

So it seems now HP are calling the shots. But at least they admit having 'stock'.

Maybe they can give stock to sell to the ones who are willing to sell. Unlike other retailers who have sent their stock back to HP..

lokhor: Interesting article: https://thisismynext.com/2011/08/22/hp-touchpad-99-in-your-words/

Yeah, might end up with a decent market share after all :D

Anyone notice the ad on tv with the snowboarder has changed?

She now prints from her pc, not her touchpad.

I guess in a year she will print from her cloud?

Does anyone know if accessories are being discounted elsewhere in the world? Seems a bit dumb that you firesale the units to get rid of them but leave accessories for an EOL product out at full price?

Genuine HP accessories might, but I'd doubt 3rd party ones will... they'll probably make a killing!!

There will be a much larger market for the accessories now, so no, not dumb. They'll need to recuperate some of their losses some how.

New auction on Trademe, first one posted earlier looks like it was removed by the seller by bringing forward the end time instead of paying for withdrawl.

I put first bid in for $200 but that'll be the end of it for me. Originally there was a buy now of $400 on it but since I placed a bid it becomes unavailable. Someone will bid over me with all of the publicity this has been getting.

At least they started their auction at a fair price, although no doubts it'll go much higher.

Edit to say that my bid has already been topped :)

Shame they opened it. There goes any interest in it I may have had.

If anyone does have an unopened one they want to sell, I'm willing to pay a little more than the firesale price for it. Nothing silly mind you, but a markup of $50 or so shouldn't be a problem.

I have one sealed but intend to keep it. At what stage does it become profiteering though? I'd say everyone here would take one with a $50 premium. That's probably 100 people just watching this thread. Does that make $100 premium over the top? $200?
