"At this time, we regret that we have determined we will not have sufficient clarity in a timely manner regarding additional availability of product to allow us to fill remaining unfulfilled orders. Unfortunately as a result, we are now cancelling unfulfilled orders and expect this process to be completed shortly. Customers whose orders are being canceled will receive a cancelation notice via e-mail. No credit cards have been charged for any unfulfilled orders."

I have not received a cancellation notice and my card has been charged. I'm not holding my breath but we'll see what happens!

Same for me. Is slickdeals the same as OnSale? I see someones turned up today from Onsale/Amazon even though Amazon still said "shipping soon" . Behodar, did you ship yours to shipito?

Cheers, Matt.

Well, if JB HiFi are sending their stock back, some of the unlucky HP staffers may be in luck.

@hairy1 Yes, I went through Shipito.

Slickdeals is a site showing good deals around the place, in this case TouchPads. Some users are contacting customer services at various places and posting the responses for all to see.

So what about these 4G Touchpads HP were supposed to be releasing? Are they sitting about in containers waiting for another firesale or what?

I just got the onsale / Amazon cancellation message. I ordered at 4.30 pm Sunday EST so thought I had a good shot.

I just got a cancellation notice too. Worryingly, it states "Your credit card was not charged for this order". I may have to chase them up to get a refund now...

From ITD...

Hi Richard

Thanks for your order.  Unfortunately we sold out immediately on this great deal for the HP Touchpad and have none in stock to fulfill your order.  I have had to cancel your order and process a full refund back onto your credit card.

Please find below a confirmation of the refund and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Found this TradeMe Auction for a 32GB TouchPad with a $1 reserve. Will be interesting to see how high this one gets, to see what value the market currently puts on it.

haha best question ever on the trademe auction.

"May I pick this up at the Noel Lemming you work at ? ;) nk4002r (720 )  12:23 am, Thu 25 Aug
No because I don't work at Noel Leemings! I'm a high school teacher. I won this in a competition and have no need for it (I already have an iPad) 7:27 am, Thu 25 Aug"

But its hard to accuse the guy of profiteering when he puts it on there with a $1 reserve. How much it sells for is totally up to market forces. I know I'll be watching this one with interest, to see how much value the market currently places on these devices. I'm pretty sure its more than the $250 I was prepared to pay (for either model), which is why I'm so gutted I didn't get down to my local Noel Leemings 15 minutes earlier (I was 9th in the queue and they had 6 for sale).
