Windows 8, Firefox browser.

I have this bizarre problem that when I upload images from memory card using card reader and Lightroom, that I have to close the browser in order to safely remove the card reader.  Lightroom ejects the card after the upload .... but then when I go to safely remove it tells me another programme is using the card, and it's always the browser I have to close.  Seems weird - I asked on a photography forum but no one had experienced this.

There's an add on about Adobe Creative Cloud - maybe that's doing it.

I don't use IE, but it doesn't happen with Chrome - so guess it's to do with that add ons.

Disable all your addons, see if it still happens. If not then add them back in individually.

I think I'll just leave it. I tried disabling the Adobe one, thinking that would be most likely. It's not a biggy to close the browser, but I was curious.

Thanks for the ideas, much appreciated.

Is firefox your default browser? Setting Chrome as the default might fix it.

Yes I used Chrome for a while but could never set things right for banking, so reverted to Firefox. Easier to just close the browser for ejecting card than messing with banking?
