@Jaxson may I ask what camera do you use for your travel shots that give such a wide focal length range and impressive light sensor?

Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

Yep I’ve been shooting with Pentax DSLRs for many many years. Relatively unheard of in NZ and close to useless for video, but quite epic for stills, with sensor shake reduction years ahead of the rest, and in rugged weather sealed bodies.

Not sure if I’d go that way nowadays, but very happy still with the results.

Here are two photos of fruit taken today.  The first photo is with my old Samsung S3 and the second with my Nokia 5.  All default settings & flash set to off.  The Samsung chose 1/17 at ISO 250 and the Nokia 1/20 at ISO 640.  I chose the best photo out of about 6 from each camera. Both cameras showed at least 2 with missed focus.  I'd say the colour of the apple is slightly more realistic from the Samsung & overall more vibrant from the Nokia. Straight from the camera apart from being cropped in gThumb.

I took these two photos to compare a flagship smartphone from 2012 to a more budget phone from 2017.  In good light outdoors the Nokia 5 is just as good as the S3.  In low light the S3 focuses quite a lot better.

That's just nuts. I've seen that somewhere before. Travel show I guess. Not much wiggle room there!

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Yeah there's one in Thailand with a market either side, but this one was just a few meters between houses.
Having worked on the railways in NZ, it just didn't compute mentally with our safety proceedures etc here!
