HI all, I was wondering if anyone could advise if Jb
Hi Fi would price match "UDS Mart" on the Cannon 200d camera?

I know the price match other big stores like Noel Leming etc but I am wondering how I would get on if I asked the to match a place that at the moment only sell their items on trade. They have a website but they have told me it's still under construction (which is why everything is listed as $5000) but the camera in question is not listed on their site but is listed by them on trademe (at about $500 cheaper).

If it's not likely they will match that price the next cheapest place according to pricespy is "mobile station" (they are about $400 cheaper than JB HiFi), this seems to be an online only store but the camera is listed on their website rather than trademe which could look more credible?

If I won't have any luck with JB HiFi would I have any luck with another store such as Noel Leeming or PB Tech?

JB will price match but there is probably zero chance of getting a price match against an online only store that sells parallel imported products and I don't see why it would be expected that they would.

I don't think they will match the price from a online store as most of trader which promise a price matching are likely to exclude online pirce cuz they consider the price from online store "Are unreliable for stock status and warranty"

When I got my Canon 800D from JB last year, they didn't have any issue price matching Noel Leeming's price. Just showed them the price on NL's site and they took the camera down to $899. Bit different to the OP as NL are a direct competitor of JB but this is an example of them price matching.

I've had JB Hifi match Noel Leeming for an Office 365 Home license, around $95 from memory

I've found JB generally are happy to do other retailers, but UDS Mart doesn't even have any NZ operations, they ship direct from HK, so I put the chance that they'll match at zero.

if you should have any problem with the item, i wouldn't expect the warranty, let alone CGA compliance, would be the same between jbhifi and uds mart. as such, i wouldn't expect them to price match.

they do price match local retailers - nl, hn, possibly others.

You might get lucky with bigger online stores like MightyApe or PBTech (which does have physical stores), but no-name trademe store or parallel imported: forget about it. And it also looks like they are the price leader (of the reputable stores) at the moment based off of Pricespy.

PBtech seems to occasionally dive down under $800, so if you want it cheaper, wait and see if it comes up in the upcoming EOFY sale (or the hundred other sales ProbablyBriscoesTech does).

In general, it seems to depend on how amenable the person behind the counter is; I've successfully gotten a price-match to MightyApe and PBTech from them for small electrical items or media, but I have also had refusals for the same sort of items to MightyApe because "we can only price-match physical stores, not online".
