I have a proper gmail account in my name, with youtube channel and a couple of videos.

Then one day I added a "brand channel" so I could chat in youtube anonymously.

Now I would like to delete that anonymous identity but all the info I can find on that seems to imply I have to delete my proper channel as well. If so, will I have to delete my proper gmail account too?

Have I understood that right?

Thanks in advance.

No, its a brand channel/account (I think that's the terminology) that I created so I chat using an anonymous identity.

Originally, I logged on to YT using my gmail account and created a personal channel so I could participate in YT live chat sessions.

Then I realised my real name was showing up in the chat sessions, which I didn't want.

I followed these instructions...and setup a second identity that is associated with my real gmail address.

But now I'm unsure how to delete it, or even if I can.

From memory it was just the steps outlined in their help page, but ensuring that I had the channed selected in the top right thingie when logged into youtube. It didnt even make me 2 factor auth for the deletion which I thought was a bit crap on their part.
